Does GHB solution have a smell?

Hello. A friend of mine has made some ghb, starting with gbl.
The result was a thick solution of Na-GHB, slightly yellow
when you look at like 200 ml in the bottle, clear when in a syringe.
The solution has a smell, not exactly the smell of gbl, but rather close to it.
Is this smell caused by a little gbl?, which seems unlikely to me as it would float on top of the solution.
btw, the taste of the stuff is not bad at all,
just salty, and, when mixed with orange juice
you dont even taste it at all.

Have come across 2 types of ghb - one doesnt have a smell but the other smells like stomach acid!!

IDEALLY, when made 100% correctly, GHB wont have a smell, well, a mild salty smell .. but most of the GHB you find on the streets has a very distinct smell and taste.. kinda lot hot man seman!

Are we talking about Sodium GHB or Potassium GHB? They have very distinct tastes.
Also pure GHB is a blindingly white powder, which is extremely hygroscopic.
Na-GHB has been reputed as smelling like 'green apples'.

Phreex, the taste of the stuff is very good, considering it's a ghb solution.
