Opioids Does Gabapentin really reduce Hydrocodone levels?

I'm finding contradictory statements all over google.

One site says combining gabpentin & hydrocodone will lead to increased effects from both.
While another site says taking gabapentin in a dose dependent manner will reduce blood levels of hydrocodone (basically making it less effective).
So which is it? And what do they mean by "dose dependent"? They don't usually explain. Is it only certain doses of gabapentin that do this? Or do they mean it depends on the timing of when you take them?

Also what are some TRUE ways to potentiate/extend hydrocodones effects?
I've read that hydrocodone MUST be metabolized by the liver into hydromorphone to have any effect, because hydrocodone itself is not active.
Yet I've also read that hydrocodone itself IS active & that the hydromorphone is very negligible in it's effects.
Plus it MUST be active, because intranasal hydrocodone does work to a degree.

I've also read that inhibiting CYP2d6 with cimetidine for example can either make hydrocodone more effective by slowing down it's conversion to hydromorphone, which causes you to produce more or it could make it less effective because less hydromorphone gets produced, But which is it?!?!

When we slow down or alter DXM's metabolism, you get more DXO. So why wouldn't slowing down hydro's metabolism lead to MORE hydromorphone?
I'm trying to get the most out of hydrocodone, since it's a very short lived (and not a very euphoric opioid on it's own). I feel like it would be a waste to not try.

I did take some cimetidine last night & personally felt like it enhanced & prolonged the effects, but it could've also been placebo?
What is your experience getting the best out of hydrocodone?

1 or 2 beers and a benzo. But I'm fortunate to get scripted oxy and benzo. I prefer oxycodone over any other opioid. It feels so "clean" to me, puts me in a great mood, reduces my pain considerably and I can function and focus excellent. Oxy alone works well but clonazapam enhances it as well AND 1 or 2 beers. For my body chemistry it's the holy grail. I think people can def have different holy grails, ya gotta experiment a bit. My doc was nice enough to let me try different combos. I don't mention the beets to her though..lol IMO hydrocodone doesn't have the punch oxy does not does it last as long. And most (if not all) of the hydrocodones have fkn Tylenol in them. Oxy don't. Correct me if Im wrong on that.

Benzos definitely help potentiate hydrocodone.
I find hydrocodone + klonopin to be a nice mix.
I stay away from alcohol though.

Oxycodone is 1.5x more potent than hydrocodone. And supposedly more euphoric (I've only ever had 1 experience with oxycodone back in like 2010 & I had a huge tramadol tolerance at the time, so I didn't feel much from the oxy unfortunately).

I believe brand name Vicodin does not contain any acetaminophen. But the brand name of Percocet is oxy/acetaminophen. So they both have their combinations.

Thankfully I have 10mg hydrocodone with only like 325mg of acetaminophen. Which I'm not too worried by, since I only rarely get to use hydrocodone. But when I do, I'd like to be able to get the most out of it.

I find hydrocodone is mostly a boring opioid that makes me stare/zone out really bad (which other opioids don't really do). And only once in awhile during it's effects will I get a "man this feel really good" feeling, but it's very short lived.

I honestly prefer tramadol over the -codones.

I've also noticed hydrocodone doesn't seem to cause much, if any histamine release. Cause I never get the itches from hydros like I use to get from tramadol or heroin.
