I recently decided to take a break off of all drugs I was using. These drugs being marijuana, alcohol, various opiates, caffeine, sertraline, and doxylamine. My ability to think seems to be much clearer now and I began to think using all these substances on a daily basis might not be among the brightest of ideas I've ever had. I also noticed that I engaged in other risky behaviors that I normally would have avoided while using drugs. My body also feels healthier in general.
Have you noticed any major contrast in your personality, the way you feel, or the way you conduct your life between when you're using drugs and when you're not? It seems I'm always happy when I'm not be dependent on substances but eventually I always go back to relieve anxiety or depression or just because I know it makes me feel good. I justify it because I've always been able to function but I have to wonder what it's doing to myself.
