Does dope sickness come on slowly over time or happen suddenly all at once.

Hi all
I'm new to the forum and to daily heroin use, but not to opiates in general.
I've been using 60 to 90mg of Oxycodone pretty steadily the last year.
Just made the switch to heroin because of the pill cost. o the money, i'm in pain !!!
Been using like 2 bags a day for a week or so and am wanting to avoid being dope sick.
I would say i'm feeling relatively OK right now.
so any insight you can give me would be of a great help.

That's a pretty minor habit, expect to get steadily worse in the form of maybe cramps, hot cold flashes, no sleep for a few days, you could make it a bit easier for yourself with some immodium or kratom with a habit like that. But even if you went the kratom route u would prob be feeling better by the time u got it, expect 3-4 days of crap

For me it always started with yawning, runny nose and tearing eyes which gives way to chills, restlessness, psychological symptoms such as anxiety & depression, eventually leading to full blown withdrawal. It kind of depends on the half life of the opioid you were using, but most addicts are feeling the onset within 24 hours after their last dose.

heroin withdrawals come on slowly...first things i would notice were a runny nose, yawning, tiredness yet increased anxiety, a skin crawly type feeling, dysphoria..these feelings would only get worse the longer i went into withdrawals..sleep was impossible as well..

i also made the switch from oxy to heroin thinking it was cheaper but after awhile my heroin habit got way out of control..heroin is a quick road to nowhere, trying to treat pain with it is useless..

Opiate withdrawals come on slowly... pretty much what belfort said... ^^^ especially with the sleeping part. it's impossible to sleep. I've never iv'd heroin , but i've iv'd my morphine 30mg i get and i will say I am sick with in 12 hours no lie... I always thought morphine had a longer half life but it doesn't. I always manage to get my hands on suboxone 8mg/2mg ( when I run out of all my opiates) from my mom or another family member because they don't wanna see me sick as I am young and use that as an excuse i guess. even my doctor has prescribed it to me when i ran out early because the main doctor wasn't there and he has to sign for hydrocodone and morphine (S ll) but she can write the sub by herself. which is interesting. im prescribed (morphine i.r. 30mg (90) , ms contin 60mg (60), hydrocodone (60) 10mg)

mine always started with sneezing .then snot, then cramps, the runs etc...for me the first week was hell .then started to feel a little better slowly..like flu.
