Does Deep House Belong on the Dancefloor???

it doesnt need energy thats not the point
some people just dont get it
beats per minute is not just about what makes you move, you have to listen to it---slower music actually forces you to dance a little more intuitively than just that extra fast hard shit, it makes you think a little more about your dance-moves
prog house has ALOT of flow to make me dance, if its on the right system the bass is there, the breakdowns are there, when they kick in the symbol clash everyone goes nuts---sure its more subtle but thats the point!!
:)
not everyone can grove to 140bpm all night!!!
as you get older and more involved in your tastes, the BPM will slow down :)
you will see

it's all about the
sloooooowwwwwwwww
burrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnn
deepness and soul, soul, soul. (money is one thing, soul is another :) )
build up
build up
build up
tech house
and then
WHAM!
FUNKY BREAKS.
oh, the pleasure.

So, disco house or funky house doesn't have soul? I can see hard house with it's bouncy, star-wars beats....but House in general doesn't have as much soul as deep house? Everytime I see Louie Vega spinning, there's a ton of people sitting in booths or standing at the bar drinking their martini's or cosmo's looking oh-so-hip nodding their heads. Compare that to when Charles Feelgood, dj Dan, or Angel Alanis spin...and everybody's on the dancefloor.

Personally I think deep/funky/disco house is all good. It's taken what was once disco and evolved it into a good sound. Now in a big club setting I can see how you would feel about it, but in the dim laid back atomosphere deep house can set a good vibe without the need to freak out and jump around. Definatly preferred over hip hop anyday.
It's definatly come along way for music that was once only accepted in gay clubs.

Have you been to a hip/hoop club lately...?
Maybe it's just that where I live SUCKS... but hip-hop clubs don't dance either...!! Every now and again when some wack ass booty song comes on they'll dance... but otherwise, it's people a) watching the Dj or b) watching the ass...
Argh!
Did all the dancers OD...????

Deep House is for sliding on the dancefloor.
Although I love me some harder tech and break beats for variety and spice.

It's about grabbing the atmosphere and wrapping it around you tightly in one continuous seamless motion
You'll know deep house because you'll be dancing so high, but your feet will barely leave the ground.
Heh, that's what it means to me anyways.

its all about deep house in the upscale venue with all the nicely dressed people gettin the fuck down :)

I'm a major, major fan of the of the whole deep, melodic, prog/tech house with dark-ass groovy bits, etc... and from my two playing out experiences, I can sfaely say, that the people on the dancefloor were diggin' it, old-skool! It most certainly does belong on the dancefloor, it's just that these crack-smokin', meth-snortin', glow-stick-nazi's can't get into it, but f*ck it. The real music heads can get down, no worries. It's not about BPM's, it's not about stellar breakdowns and buildups, it's all in that deep, low-down groove. Heads down, eyes closed, music ripping your soul apart dance like you feel.
It's a style you've got to dig if you want to dance. A lot of people find it a little too slow, or lacking in energy, but they're looking at it all wrong. The energy is there from the start, you've got to feel it. It's an emotional thing!
It's all about starting out slow, slipping into the groove, boppin' for a while before you slide right into it and before you no it, you've been dancing for hours. All this NRG and Hard-Tek, and banging shit, it's too easy. Deep House, deep prog, all the groovy shit - that's were it's at. You're not dancing to some monotonous synth line - your groovin' :D
It's all 'bout the groove. :D

Deep house seems to be loved on the dancefloor by
those who, quite frankly, no longer likes to sweat... Their clothes/hair may get ruined.... I dunno.... but more and more, I see people conversing and bobbing their heads when deep house is played and rarely ever actually dancing... when the dancefloor does get more rowdy, it's usually when something alittle harder is thrown in...
I know its bullshit. We need to bring hardcore back!!!

It's bad enough with elite-ist junglist's putting everything else down by saying their music is *better*, but know we have elite-ism in the house community too. >:
