I've used cimetidine before to potentiate many other drugs in the past. I'm just curious... Does cimetidine also potentiate alcohol? If so, what dose should be taken and when should it be taken?

I'm hoping cimetidine might potentiate alcohol so that I don't have to drink as much.

No one knows the answer to my question?

I honestly can't see how the action of cimetidine would increase alcohols effects.

yes, anything metabolized through 3A4 is potentiated by tagamet. from personal experience, 1 beer on tagamet feels like 2-3 beeers

Well there you go, thanks laCster. I dont enjoy the effects of alcohol enough to learn the metabolization profile.
