Does brain heal...

Everyone here probably knows SWIM was changed after a single LSD trip. Everyone here probably hates SWIM for not accepting it's changes, but SWIM doesn't think he's 'spiritually evolved'. He just fell he's a bit drug retard. He can live with that. But he got such an intense life, he's coursing a very hard course at university and he needs it's full brain potential for that. So SWIM wonders if his brain will ever heal. SWIM isn't asking advises. He seeks an explanation. He strongly believes it all has to do with brain chemistry. SWIM realized, though, here's not the better place to ask this. So he wonders if anyone here know a good forum with good specialists in brain and stuff where SWIM can ask his questions?

this would be the place, but no need to SWIM, it offers no legal protection & makes things a pain to read.

Generally most people feel "changed" after a trip, LSD or otherwise, but rarely is this the result of damage. Most psychedelics are fairly non-toxic, as opposed to things like MDMA & mephedrone. The acute effects of psychedelics are a product of neuro-chemical changes, but these usually cease once the drug is metabolized.

How long has it been since the trip? Most people report an "afterglow" type effect that lasts for a few days to a few weeks, depending on the individual.

Could you add some more specifics as to your problems? Do you have any viable symptoms, or do you just feel spaced out, easily distracted etc?

You don't have to believe that you are spiritually-inclined to accept the changes offered by a psychedelic experience. Accepting them will be a spiritual connection, whether you care or not. If you refuse to look in to those insights that you have gained, you are trying to run away from your self and the problems and distortions inherent in the parts of your psyche you are unaware of.

You will never find the answers with a brain doctor. I don't care how brain-damaged you think you are, it won't happen. There is no physical trauma from psychedelic drugs. Enough experienced psychonaughts have told you this with their inner-wisdom and heart, drawing upon personal experience and shared knowledge.

If you choose to squash the issues that have surfaced from your trip, then they will fester inside of you. It sounds like you havn't yet achieved full closure, and there are still many loose psychic threads hanging over from your trip. Either you need to finish it off, by one or a successive number of trips, or you should seek another form of therapy (such as counselling or NLP) to resolve your unconscious burdens.

do something good for your body daily, workout, eat well, stay hydrated, mix with others, get some early nights

Pretty much but I don't think I got new perceptions at all. I just feel like my mind is... laggy? That's all. ;S

The trip was 11 days ago. I thought I had many problems but most of them were either psychological or result of not eating properly. The only problems that I actually have are:
1. A light HPPD (photophobia)
2. That horrible 'heaviness' on my mind.
I used to be very intelligent and active. Now I just feel a bit 'drug retarded'. You probably know what I mean. It's nothing major, one can live with it. But for me it's just horrible because, like I said, I was very energetic, active and competitive. I used to be the very good in everything and I liked how I was. I just wonder if that retardment will go away.

EDIT: Survived Abortion,
Spirituality isn't the issue at all, and of course a doctor can give me the answer I want. The question is: 'I fell my mind a bit heavy/slow/retarded after a trip and that doesn't go away. What happened? Will it improve?' - The answer is: 'You probably fell like that because of <scientific explanation> or maybe <alternative scientific explanation>. Anyway you <will/won't> recover from that because <reason>.'
That's all!

Anyway nobody knows a good forum about neurology, brain and stuff?

Honestly you will heal but it might take like 6 months to a year without using drugs before you can accurately gauge your recovery.

I would be pretty confident to be back to my old self in 6 months if I were you.

This kinda stuff is very subjective, the only thing I can honestly say is that yes- it will go away. But I have no scientific info on why you feel this way at all. Maybe it isn't even the psychedelics? Just coincidental timing?

The OP has already received perfectly good explanations for why he may be feeling like this, from other members of the board, though nobody here can diagnose him with a physical ailment without inspecting him. The problem is he won't listen, and seems to want only the answer that he wants to hear (a physical diagnosis of some type of brain injury):

Go to a doctor then.

The doctors where I live aren't very experienced with drugs. For instance, one prescribed risperdone to me, that is reported to worsen HPPD. I just want a link to a forum where I can ask my questions.

And what perfect explanations I got? I got many physiological answers but no medical explanations.

It's an absurd, if it's doesn't cause physiological problems then what explains HPPD?

for most cases of HPPD, it is a psychological/perception issue somewhere in the brain, between the sensory organ and the final perception of it

how much sleep have you been getting after the trip?

Believe whatever you want to believe man, Acid permanently changed your brain chemistry, you'll never be the same, Scientology, the world rests on the back of a flying turtle, I don't care. Just stop asking the same question over and over and over again in slightly different ways expecting us to tell you what you want to hear.

If you just read my posts you'd have noticed I didn't ask a single time for a answer from you, all I asked was a link to a forum where I can get professional help, I just talked about my history because there could be people interested, now or after.

greenmeanies in some cases HPPD is clearly physiological, though. I'm sleeping 8-10hours/day.

This is best forum to ask the questions you've been asking. There are people here who have experienced every facet of drug use and its symptoms both good and bad. You just don't believe the answers.

Yes, here's good place to get general advises. OK. I've already said thanks many times. And when I didn't believe in any answer? Never said so, did I? But I said I don't think my brain is damaged, didn't I? I said I think I'll be better. Didn't I?

I just want a more scientific feedback now. Nothing else. This is not the place for it.

Can't understand you guys complaining.

sorry dude, but this forum is where you will get the most even-handed answers about LSD and the brain, short of hiring dr. nichols to be your personal doc. anywhere else on the internet is just going to be... the internet.

have you considered going to yoga/ tai chi/ other workout or massage in order to "loosen the body" ? sometimes helps to free the mind up as well.

Don't think I need that, I'm already very busy with studies and daily activities, just perfoming horribly.

But seriously isn't there any good community about brain neurons and stuff? I mean cmon there are huge communities about unicorns...
