does blacking out help save your life?

im jusst wondering if subconsciously your brain makes you black out so you dont do another fat shot, im saying this cuz i took 750mg of lyrica and 3.5 g of soma, and i kept popping em like candy, i blacked out for 7 hours and im still high, i think my brain was trying to tell me to slow down. any opiate user who blacked out bc you was one pill or shot away from oding and you blacked out i just thought of this after i took a right on the line od and i guess it saved my life if i didnt black out i probably have od'ed bc of lyicas llong ass onset.
 
Ehhh, well yes and no. I will speak in laymen's terms for this. Imagine you are increasing or decreasing the ammount of blood flowing through your body (stroke volume). This is obviously correlated with a lack of oxygen(insufficient flow), or perhaps still a lack of oxygen(increased flow even though oxygen is lacking). Your body is basically doing this to adjust the oxygen flowing to parts of your body. Being cognitive requires more oxygen than not. So, basically what your body is doing, is "shutting you off" (lack of conscious), in order to address the problem of oxygen insufficiency, or carbon dioxidide overabundance. For when you are asleep, your body has an easier time increasing your heart rate (tachycardia) to put more oxygen to other parts of the body, or decreased blood flow so that your body isnt exposed to excessive amounts of CO2, which is toxic. There you go in a nice little nutshell; when you are turned "off" you are easier to regulate (homeostatically).
 
i think i blacked out just bc of the sedative effects of the drug when you do a shit load of downers you can go into tachycardia and respiratory depression which sleeping its automated by the hypothalamus which im not completly sure if it will function normally wth drugs in your sysytem im still high as fuck after blacking out for about 7 hours.god im gunna piss brown tomorrow.
 
oh yes, i forgot to mention in regards to the detrimental effects of passing out. if you have excessive CNS depression; characterized by depressed breathing and slowed heart rate, you will actually die after passing out. however, your brain stem maintains regular breathing PROVIDED you have not ingested any drugs that are CNS depressants(benzos, booze). But, if you have, there is a good chance that once unconcious, the additive effects of slowed breathing from homeostatic regulation and slowed breathing from X substance, will probably kill you. Take care, and better safe than sorry.

yes true, but your lack of death is probably due to a little thing called tolerance (i.e. the suspect Neurotransmitter will have lower affinity for binding to its receptor on the postsynaptic membrane). Above all else, dont fuck around. You wont be able to gage the extent of the effects when your unconcious. Also, you can always have more of a drug, but NEVER less. Happy times man, peace~
 
i mean if you keep popping pills and taking fat shots will you bain black you out before you od?

No. You wont die until the active chemical accumulates to levels that are lethal via respiratory failure. but dude, you dont know the rate at which you are metabolizing a substance. That and the fact that half-life, residual chemical buildup in tissue (i.e. THC in fat for example), and many other environmental factors have a bearing on the rates at which chemicals are metabolized into their active ingredients (thereby increasing levels of the associated neurotransmitter). Basically dont think just cuz u took something and arent unconcious yet that you are safe. It could be that what you have taken has yet to be metabolized and therefore is literally a ticking timebomb inside of you, waiting to get metabolized (blow you the fuck up)
 
i know blacking out u can still die but does ur brain like subconciously make u black out to prevent od?
 
3.5grams is a huge dose of soma IMO, especially when combined with another depressant (is 750mg lyrica a large or small dose?). damn, no wonder you blacked out.

i wouldn't push your luck with huge doses thinking passing out will somehow save you. if you think about it, everyone who has died from depressant OD must have passed out before they died (even though some drugs make you pass out, but are very hard to OD on, ie. ketamine).
 
you know you double posted this topic? but heres what i said in the other one:

"nope doesnt help, i've been in blackout mode from a decent amount of klonopin (8mg) and shot up till i passed out and od'ed. i dont even remember how it felt when i was shooting it up, dont remember passing out"
 
i was wondering if your brain subconciously makes you black out to prevent another pill or a fat shot

i don't think so. i think that it's purely the effect of depressants on your nervous system. if that were the case, you would black out before ODing on meth if your shooting and smoking all night, but everyone knows that definitely isn't the case.
 
it didnt in my case, and also when i've eaten alot of xanax, where i eat a good bit, attempting to save some for the next day, and i wake up in the morning with less pills.

by blacking out do you mean not remembering anything? or passing out?
because in my other case posted above, i would have died if not for an ambulance. passed out with lips blue and all that. not good.
 
okay this is pissing me off

i took 750 mg of lyrica over 10 hours ago im still high as hell i want to get some godam sleep i just feel drunk as hell how long does this shit last? and would it be safe for me to take my sleeping pill? (temazepam 30mg)
 
The manufacturer notes some potential pharmacological interactions with oxycodone, lorazepam and ethanol (alcohol). Concurrent use may increase the central nervous system effects of these medications (e.g. drowsiness, effects on concentration) So i would be carful taking restoril with such a high dosage of this on board.....
 
fuck im still breathing and im taking theonly stims i got caffeine and nicotune
