does anyone know anything about the drug "ether" ?

can anyone please please please tell me anything about the drug called "ether".
i saw them use it on a movie called " fear and loathing in las vegas" and my mate found a bottle of the stuff in his garage...
can anyone suggest a relatively safe method of trying the stuff and how to do it ??

yeah. Ether is a solvent used mainly for organics.
I use it quite often in my chem labs at uni.
It is highly flamable and you have to be pretty careful with it.
Anyway my point is that it is a solvent, and you know when you hear about sniffing glue or petrol, well thats pretty much what your doing if you are using ether.
Ive never felt the urge to use it like it is used in 'Fear and loathing' but simply being in a room with ether fumes gives your head a bit of a spin.
Also i dont think it is redily available to the public.

I don't think Ether kills brain cells like glue, they did use it as an anesthetic. Its a shitty drug all the same.

unless "garage" is local slang for "ORGANIC CHEMISTRY LAB" you don't have the ether they huffed in Fear and Loathing. They had Diethyl Ether, you have Petrolium Ether. They are not the same thing.
You and your mate ought not inhale that, its not fun. The real Ether isn't really that fun either, anyway.

You don't want the shit you extract from 'Starting Fluid', so if you want it then youare going to have to find a chemical supplier - you might be able to buy SMALL AMOUNTS with little hassle - you would just need a story as to why you need it ...
Should you huff it? It's definitly not the best thing for you but overall it's not as bad as huffing gold spray paint or some shit...
Personally I'd find something better, even "OTC" you can get some whippits...
