does anyone just smoke green?

i'm from melb and nearly everyone i know smoke weed mixed with backy. i don't smoke weed anymore but when i did we always mixed the weed, we didn't even question why we did it. i find straight weed harsher on my throat but that could be cause i'm a smoker.

i have smoked just green on occasions with other greenies and find the high to be similar.

also, i was under the impression that backy's added to help the mix burn...

when u smoke a green cone i tend to find you can't "rip" a cone - the bastard doesn't stay alight long enough.

If you want it to stay alight there are many fine herbs which aren't tobacco that do an equally splendid job; as well as having other effects which in my opinion are superior to nicotine. (imho)

I was just wondering wat else other people have smoked with there cones instead of spin? spin does give u crazy head spins but the all green is better than other ways sum people i know say u should mix bub with leaf instead of spin

ill smoke green alone, mix with friends, only coz i dont have a say in it :|
apparently (according to them) green is too wasteful
funny that, i get more stoned off 4 green cones than off 10 mixed ones
then again, ill hardly be able to stand after going them all in one sitting

1234 - mebbe this explains why you dont last as long as other people smoking at home? 3 green cones= 6 mixed at 50/50

After giving up ciggies at 19, I didn't smoke anything with tobacco in it until about 7 years ago :(

At the time, I think it was fair to say I had gathered enough weed to last me several months at my average daily allowance. Then, out of the blue, an old family friend came to stay. Ol' "E**** the fish" (RIP) as we used to know him, liked tobacco in his joint where I didn't, so I would say just help yourself to the jar and make your own. OL' E ended up staying for months and my supply of course diminished rather quickly. Eventually I had to say we would have to start having 1 smoke between us rather than 1 each. Although Ol' E didn't smoke ciggies, he just couldn't seem to smoke weed without tobacco, regardless of how smooth the mull.

So I started adding as Ol' E would say in his best Albanian accent, "...just a little bit of tobacco... To cut a long story short, O'l E eventually moved out but the ... little bit of tobacco.. stayed and grew to around 50:50 in my joints. A while ago I changed to bongs, and have reduced that to around 25-30% tobacco.

After three months of bongs instead of joints, without really trying, I have reduced my intake of both. One big difference to health comes from not being surrounded by a smoky atmosphere which usually results from smoking joints or cigs. With a bong, although you're getting more smoke per cone amount, if the smoke is exhaled out the window, your environment will remain much cleaner. Overall it has made a big difference to how I feel. I've lost my cough, and my once continual sore throat.

In regards to which form - straight or mixed - is found to be less harsh on the throat and bronchial air way, I think it all comes down to what you're used to. Because cannabis and tobacco smoke burn different areas of the air passage and throat, if you do mix, you cause additional irritation. The reason the “bite” is more pronounced in a non-smoker or single substance smoker, is that cells in these areas have not been accustomed to the new form of irritation. Cells of a mix smoker respond to continual irritation by amongst other things, releasing protective mucous which lessens the “bite”.

For those who do mix, most usually agree there is little doubt nicotine potentiates THC, especially with the form of tobacco normally used i.e. processed. Nicotine delivery is packaged into each and every cigarette and most rolling tobacco, even though such intent is not admitted by tobacco companies. Nicotine is also an amazing drug in the way it affects absorption of certain substances. I have a paper on this somewhere if anyone is interested.

My advice for a great mixing substitute is dried rose petals. Avoid any roses that have been sprayed at any time over the past season. This can be a tall order, but some rose growers do prepare petals for smokers as the practice is not that uncommon, or at least it once wasn't. A great source can be wild roses, but not those growing on roadsides, as besides heavy metal accumulation, they may have also been sprayed.

I've read that you get the "rush" of tobacco because of the ammonium that is in green.

Ammonium helps the body absorb nicotine faster, hence when you smoke weed with some decent tobacco you get a mad rush.

:)

Sonic Reality : Cairns people are a joke for smoking weed.. there is so many pot heads that spin its not funny, i seen a lad once throw in a gram of medium quality green then proceed to place a whole PJ extra mild ciggie in with it.. *whizz whizz* goes the machine. YUK.

And another guy i seen actually mix WHITE OX rolling tobacco and used it for buckets .. *spew*

thats just sick..
personally i'm a "green only" guy, but with everyone else smoking spin you can't help it.

Ammonia is produced during the burning of both marijuana and tobacco, as are a few other compounds which also may facilitate absorption.

See this thread

It would be interesting to know how the samples were selected and if the tobacco was processed or not.

i only smoke greens. i can't stand tobbaco. and of cource all the people that ask if i mix and i say no they all think i'm trying to be hard or something

australians are just about the only people who "generally" use tobacco with the herb, not sure why, it was just how i learned to smoke pot,
it is just about essential when smoking hash though.

i always smoke the green thankyou, proud of that statement.
i dont smoke ciggies, ironically both my p's are heavy smokers.
so to add any impuritive to my weed is a big no no. keep it natural, keep it pure. (cept for hash)

i have found that a spun cone, i get a rush, tho i dont get stoned.
even if i feel a little stoned, it subsides in about 15 mins.

keep the evil additives out!;)

how the fuck would mixing it with tobacco make it last longer.. ur still getting the same aammount of THC.. everywhere in victoria people believe all sorts of crazy shit they think mixing it is the best thing especially in melbourne.. i think some of u adelaide boys need to come down here n show em how its done :)

^It's definitely what you grow up with - which may not necessarily be specific to location. When I was a teenager, everyone smoked ciggies and everyone mixed tobacco with their pot (Sydney northern suburbs). Everyone I know now who smokes still mixes in tobacco - at probably greater than 50:50 too! Personally - if I'm out and about, being social, then I prefer a small smoke (joint or cone) of mixed. If I'm at home & want to get blasted - then I opt for straight bud through a bud bomb

Here in NZ, when someone offers a smoke and its mixed, we usually know theyre from elsewhere as hardly anyone I know here ever mix weed with tobacco. Terms here we call for mixed stuff is "euros" or "ozzies". So if australian guy in pub goes, "do ya fancy a smoke" kiwi would most likely reply with "as long as its not an ozzy or euro joint" heh...

Perth person here, I personally never mix, straight green :) a couple of my mates mix it up tho. Not a fan of it tho.

varies. since ive quit smoking ciggies, i guess no tobacco. only smoke the green with tobacco if im rollin a spliff
