Ok. I CANNOT find any information about this on the internet. Maybe I'm not searching it right.

Does anyone do "seconds" in which they take a recently used cotton.. juice it by pushing down on it with their plunger.. squirt about 30 cc water on it and do another shot creating a mild sense of euphoria and relief depending on the potency of the cotton?

My girlfriend tought me how to do this and a couple people back home commonly refer to it as "seconds" or even "thirds."

I've been doing it since I started. Cotton shots used to be amazing to me. I would do a nice shot then the next morning when I would wake up feeling like complete shite I would juice my cotton.. no rush.. just a nice feeling that lasts maybe 10 minutes.

Anybody?

IMO 'juicing' your cottons or 'cotton shots' isn't worth it. Your cotton has the possibility of growing bacteria on it or becoming dirty and can cause you cotton fever. Look it up it can make you really sick for a couple hours. Most of the time the amount of heroin left in the cottons is not worth running the risk of getting cotton fever IMO.

Yeah it's really not worth it at all. If your sick, you might get a momentary relief of withdrawal, but it is short lived, and often when I did this I would start to shake uncontrollably and get pounding headaches. Im not sure if that is what cotton fever is, but it obviously was not healthy.

in a similar vein, do any of you tar smokers ever smoke "seconds" from old straws or foilies?

when i used to live in SoCal I was the master jew of the resinated straw

I always saved up all my filters so I could "juice" them or whatever you want to call it when I was really sick and out of dope. I wouldn't recommend bothering with it for recreational users, and it's best to make sure to use a clean filter to then filter the water that comes from the soaked used cottons/filters, but when I was in bad withdrawals and I had 10 or more filters it was really a life-saver. Sometimes when I had a lot of dope I would purposely leave some in the filters as a way to save a tiny bit for that day I knew would be coming when I was out of dope and money (somehow I could never save any actual powder, lol). I never got sick from doing it and I did it thousands of times, but I was using proper filters and fresh needles and making sure everything was fairly clean.

That's exactly what cotton fever is. It fucking sucks.

Lol I laughed pretty are at the "let me google this for you." I swear I googled it and found nothing but I was proven wrong. I've had cotton fever twice and yeah it sucks I would always get it at work and i would get freezing cold and my body would hurt so bad. Someone told me it happens when a little bit of cotton string or w/e gets stuck in the tip or in the needle. and yeah I did one today and it's not worth doing I realized.

As part of a pill filtration process I sometimes use, I create a filtering barrel with cotton inside it.

I reckon if you saved all your cotton from spoon filtering and whacked into a 5mL barrel with a bit of sterile water, you could possibly save the cotton to reuse much more safely.
You could keep it in the fridge or freezer for a bit as long as you make things sterile as possible during the process.

Then finally when you're fiending etc and go to use it, draw water up into it and the cotton will become a bit more loose.. Let it sit for a few minutes (maybe agitate it a bit and push the liquid out into a spoon.. this will push as much liquid out of the cotton as possible. Maybe repeat if you really want, and if you have too much solution then put it in something inside a hot water bath on stove and evap until satiisfied.

Then get another barrel with a 0.2 micron wheel and a flat tip drawing needle attached and draw up the liquid into it. Remove filter, whack on your desired tip...I prefer 26-27 on my arms and more than 1mL of liquid, 30 for hands if only using 0.5mL - all depends on what I'm banging.

Ultimately it's not a safe thing to do, but this way is at least a bit safer.

Used cottons will be full of bacteria. If you insist on shooting seconds from a cotton, micron filtering the shot is certainly a good idea, but overall it is best to stick to micron filters. Remove far more of the shit the heroin is cut with, plus bacteria..

Especially do not reuse a cotton that is more than a few hours old.

Jesus! Imagine what sort of bacteria is breeding in the wet/moist cotton?..Youd be asking for trouble surely injecting this?...I dont think it would be worth the hole in your arm...Saying this, i aint never done it! But it sounds like a dirty shot disaster waiting to happen...Especially any that are over a few hours old...
SIck as ive been over that last decade ive NEVER juiced my cottons...( 8oShit eh?...that almost sounds sexual hahahaha..)

Hah I never heard the term "juiced", it's usually to my knowledge just called a rinse shot or a cotton shot. IMO it is not worth it, unless you have a micron filter. That fucking feeling is just godawful, and you can't really do anything but wait for it to pass. It will also happen if you use a dirty used syringe.

You might get away doing cotton shots a few times but eventually you will get sick. It starts with this feeling of weakness in you limbs an hour after the shot. Next you get this crawling feeling on your back. Some of your lymph nodes will be become swollen. Then the chills come. You start shivering. The shivering gets so bad your teeth chatter. You feel like this for 3 hours.

Cotton shots are not worth it. Nobody wants cotton fever when they are going into withdrawal.

Cotton shots are unsuitable for IV/IM. I've heard of people succesfully plugging bloodied or otherwise wuked up shots, so maybe you can try that.

It usually hits me about fie minute after the shot, sometimes longer though. But that is exactly it, that horrible teeth chattering
