Hey, I've tried out lots of things to fall asleep including benzo's (from diazepam to zolpidem, and yes, I know zolpidem isn't a benzo pur sang), ghb, seroquel (quetiapine) and heroin. A lot of these things can get you very sleepy and woozy, but only ghb has the power to knock you out no matter what the circumstances are.

So, my question is: is there any drug that has more knock-out power than ghb?

Please, don't make this a moral debate on how I shouldn't use drugs to help me fall asleep though.
And no, I'm not asking this for date-raping ideas lol.

Diethyl ether, nitrous oxide and antipsychotics. Not sure how the sleep quality is with those substances though.

Honestly, no, but GHB is sort of a poor choice to use as a sleep aid. One needs to redose multiple times a night to get a full 8-10 hours.

but yes, GHB is sort of a last resort to sleeping.

A dose of chloral hydrate in a shot of alcohol, like vodka. The original "Mickey Finn" knockout drink =) It doesn't seem safe though...

^It's two powerful depressants mixed together, quite dangerous, but yes, the Mickey Finn was the original "knockout drink" or "knockout drop".

When it comes to sleep medication, GHB isn't really that great. You've got to find out which one works for you.

I honestly think that short acting benzos like alprazolam, flunitrazepam, and triazolam would work more effectively for sleep. I've only tried GBL, but from what I've been hearing, it sounds like its pretty much the same deal as GHB(it is a prodrug which metabolizes into GHB if I'm correct), an incredibly short acting sedative comparible to alchohol, but cleaner.

One of my friends had Hooked me up with GBL last spring, and I was dosing around the clock for a week. I really did love that stuff, and it definately can knock you out if you take too much (I found myself face down on a subway train to coney Island with my back pack and all my belongings scattered about the floor, I was pretty embarrassed coming too.)
These types of drugs are better for coming off stims than for sleep, IMO.

Edit/
Just wanted to say, fucking around with the benzos I listed are probably more dangerous than using GHB once a night for sleep. I only listed them as I thought they were more effective for knocking oneself out. You probably have more of a risk of forming a dependency on them than you do on GHB though, not to say that GHB/GBL can't cause dependence too, just not as quickly. Or at least that's what I found with my limited experience with GBL, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Definitely right. Benzos and GHB(I don't like GBL) are the only drugs in which I can say I have truly loved.

I found it much harder to take a break from Clonazepam after only using it for 3 months. Though, GHB withdrawals are arguable more intense in a shorter amount of time.

I've heard 2M2B works better than GHB, due to reduced euphoric effects and no dopamine rebounding. Not confirmed though.

Yeah, chloral hydrate & triazolam. Then barbiturates like seconal.

p.s znegative flunitrazepam aint a short acting benzo. & op, what the heck is pur sang?????

My bad on that, I just lumped it in there as its pretty notorious for being used to knock people out. Shit 16 hour half life, that's crazy long. I think he meant per say btw.

I would have to say that IME, fentanyl is a real knock you on your ass drug. I know we're mainly discussing GABAergics here, but fentanyl really put me down the two times I came across it. And Fentanyl has been used in assassination attempts and military operations too. It's crazy shit.

1-ethynyl-1-cyclohexanol works better for me than GHB(in terms of making me want to sleep) and for me it seems to last a bit longer. It doesn't knock you right out like GHB will(though I can't say i've actually tried to do this with 1-eth....)but its made me unbelievably tired to the point where I just had to go to sleep or I would have just fallen asleep doing whatever I was. Using chemicals for sleep is a gigantic trap you should save yourself from falling into though. I find its occasionally alright to use them to aid in receiving a full or better nights sleep but IMO even that can be tricky. Also most chemicals inhibit the way you sleep so unless you have a sleep disorder already its not going to help much.
