I have heard from many people that if you get drunk than that night that you go to sleep you will not dream. But I can swear that I've had dreams after being drunk. but on the other hand I was drunk,so... I dont even know. What do you guys think about this?

Alchohol does not stop you from dreaming in fact I dont think theres anythink in this world that does that (except maybe what that chick took in Nightmare on Elm stree..lol) any way its just that your so shit faced you dont rember it in the morning...the same with amything that makes you pass out..
If you dont believe me try a little experiment..
1 night only drink like 2 glasses of wine and see if you dream
the nest night drink like 3 bottles of wine and see if you dream...
Get my point?? You just dont rember your dreams when your wasted..
P.S. you dream every night no matter if you remeber them or not!!!

I havn't looked into the specifics of this in some time, but alcohol actually does play a role in how deeply you sleep.
While intoxicated, you can fall asleep easy. It usually feels great to pass out after a night of boozing it up.
BUT, I've read a couple places (no time within the last year, we're going off vague memory here) that alcohol will lessen some of the beneficial effects of sleeping. I do think time while in R.E.M. (dream states), and most repairative processes are effected but I don't know for a fact.

Actually.... MOST drugs affect the amount you dream. Alcohol reduces the amount of REM sleep you get, which is when most (though not all) of your dreams happen. So yeah, your chances of remembering dreams are lessened when you drink, since you have less of them.
When withdrawing from alcohol, very vivid dreams and nightmares are common, a sort of rebound effect.

In my experience, I've had way more crazy dreams when I'm drunk than sober, I even remember them better. Maybe it's becuase when I wake up and I'm still partially drunk I am still in that dreamlike stage, I dunno...

Yep, as vector and zorn said, alcohol and other downers have a tendency to cause you to sleep more deeply and reduce the amount of REM sleep you get, thus reducing your dreamtime.
Wanna have some crazy dreams? Take from 100-500 mg of 5-htp right before sleeping....5-htp always makes me dream vividly. (5-htp, or 5-hydroxytryptophan, in case you were unaware, is an amino acid/supplement available in heath food stores/GNC/pharmacies.)
Lots of people also find they have increased dreaming on serotonergic drugs like the SSRIs, Tianeptine, Remeron, Effexor, etc.

Obviously, you dream when you are drunk, so I think you answered your own question there, Einstein
