Does 2c-i affect the same receptors as MDMA?

Hey, im going to this festival on sat and i guess im gunna take a break on rolling and my friend suggested 2c-i or something similar. I heard its like a trippy effect and also like you are rolling. Can anyone tell me more about this? Thanks for the help. This might be in the wrong thread topic so mods feel free to correct me. Sorry..
 
It's not like you are rolling-- there may be empathy that is similar and the talkativeness, but not the body euphoria (at least for me) and its much more psychedelic than MDMA.
 
2C-I is a phenethylamine that acts as a releasing agent of norepinephrine and dopamine. It does not have a cross tolerance with MDMA.
 
So it doesnt do anything to the seratonin receptors? Im trying to take a break from rolling and dont wantt any perm damage to my receptors. I haven't done 2c-i before but ive done shrooms, is it anything related to that? How would you explain the trippy feeling? Is it real intense or something that just creeps on you. Cause i usually have bad trips..:(
 
It shouldn't do much if anything to the serotonin receptors. The effects of the drug at larger dosages (12-30+ mg) are often described as combining psychedelic or hallucinogenic effects typical of drugs such as LSD with the empathogenic or entactogenic effects of drugs such as MDMA.
 
Damn. Sounds pretty intense. How much do you think would be in 1 capsule? That's what they come in right? a capsule? I've just heard about it at festivals and stuff and was just going to try and scout around for something like that..
 
I'm pretty sure that 2ci has some affinity for 5-HT2a, given that it's a psychedelic and all. I don't think it's going to have much effect on MDMA, but I'd wait the normal week or two anyway to be on the safe side. Be careful with 2ci, since it has a pretty steep dose-response curve and the dosages are already pretty tiny. Also, it's not anything like MDMA in my experience...it's definitely psychedelic, but it has a different character than the classical psychs (e.g. mushrooms, LSD). I don't know how to describe it, exactly.

If you want to take 2ci and MDMA concurrently, though, I've heard that they're a pretty decent mix. :)

I want to second what RGB said, as a warning... Be careful with dosage for 2C-I. It's not like MDMA where doses can be (and are) measured out in the hundreds. It's closer to 10-25mg for 2C-I, which is a tiny amount of powder! Don't overdose on the drug.
 
I doubt you'll find it if you go out looking for it, best best is to find a vendor online and order it.. I highly doubt you'll have a bad trip as it leaves you mentally clear headed-- like most PEA's. In my opinion, MDMA and its analogues just arent worth it-- the damage is too much. Psychs can produce much much better feelings once you learn how to channel them-- without any brain damage!
 
I wouldnt take 2ci at an event if you have never taken it before add to that if you normally have a bad trip on shrooms then dropping something like 2ci (in that setting) is imho asking for trouble.

Seconding this. Do it at home, or take a sub-10mg dose if you plan to go out. If you buy an unknown dosage (of an unknown substance to boot) from some random dealer, you're already asking for trouble. Doing said unknown dosage in public with no experience beforehand is a recipe for disaster.
