“From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me,”
But, as I stand, falter and fall,
You oh LORD, have seen this gall...
My arms covered be with scars,
Some of crescent, all have marred...
This skin that You oh God have seen,
Fit to encase me in and be;
A farmers plow,
Or rather knife,
Or nail to pierce the Savor's life...
So too am I,
Crippled here...
The painting doe,
For water clear...
Lo, this water's been accursed,
In times as Moses,
Still I thirst...
For life to come,
For stinging tears...
For unrequited,
Pain filled years...
