Netflix currently has this documentary available online.
It provides evidence linking the CIA to cocaine smuggling operations.
Also how cooperation's are able to make profits off prisoners of the drug war, while banks (the true big fish) have enough money to bribe their way to exclusion.

With commentary from soldiers on both sides of the conflict, filmmaker Kevin Booth's incisive documentary wades into the murky waters of the American war on drugs, the longest and costliest war in U.S. history. Taking viewers from prisons and inner-city streets to the halls of Congress and his own kitchen, Booth attempts to sort out the intricacies of the national drug policy -- and the reasons for its unmitigated failure.

Yeah this is old shit.. This looks like one of those "Alex Jones" like documentaries. Even the narrator (i believe its Kevin Booth) also made all those "Obama Deception" / Loose Change / a bunch more for ALex Jones, infowars.com, prisonplanet.com.... I saw this like seriously 3 or 4 years ago..

Isn't this the video where the narrator (Kevin Booth?) is/was addicted to pain-pills and now is on Suboxone.. IM pretty sure he talks about it at the end of this documentary "American Drug War: The Last White Hope"

The naked guy getting arrested on pcp said "kids kill eggs on drugs kids." Sadly, I know what that's like a little too much! ha ha

it reeeeeks of "alex jones"-ness, but WTF does the person's personal usage have to do with anything?
Just curious. No, didn't watch the video.
/the CIA helped the contras?! For real???? JEEBUS!! 8)

What do you mean? I was just saying/asking if its that video where the narrator had a drug addicted brother that died and the narrator himself (Kevin Booth?) says at the end of the video that he himself got addicted to pain pills and is now currently taking Suboxone....

It was just a reference to the video to see if it is the right one im thinking about....

Did I clear it up for you SangerRainsford?

It was clear from the beginning, I was phrasing that in a question to illustrate your personal attack on him/his video.

The documentary is extremely well done. It's irrelevant whether he's never touched/seen a drug, or has a massive heroin habit. Irrelevant.

Saying "it was just a reference to see if it was what I'd thought it was", right after saying something else discrediting* him, is flimsy and transparent. His name was written in the 1st post of this thread, google him/the video if you're unsure.
(*saying "isn't that the video that's associated with other videos which suck, and done by a junky?" isn't a proper way of ID'ing the video and you know that. You're implying the video's less credible, regardless of whether you knew which one it was or not. And I did originally get the impression it would be shitty - in part, based on subconscious reaction from your post - and I ended up plunking down the 2hrs to watch it subsequently, and DAMN is it a good primer for anyone who's looking to get a solid understanding of the drug war outside of "err pursuit of happiness, derp, should be able to have mah drugs". If you want a pretty solid, inside look at the mechanisms behind drugs, this video is worthwhile. 100% endorse it.

question:

how did Gary Webb commit suicide with 2 gun shot wounds to the head? I know its possible to survive a shot to the head, but at point blank suicide close range? 2 shots? How did he survive the first to shoot himself again?

well if you survived the first one I godamn bet you will man up and finish the job because if you don't, not only will you be able to live your already pathetic depressed life, but you will also have a hole in your face and be known as that guy who can't even kill himself right

id take the first shot missing as a sign from god telling me not to kill myself. i lean towards the murder conspiracy side but i wont make assumptions anymore. im just a documentary-watcher, nothing more

There are no doubts whatsoever in my mind that, sadly, Webb lost his life in the name of greedy, white politicians who spend their days getting high off money and power with no regard for anyone but themselves.

I remember watching some show on tv where they had this guy who tried to kill himself with a gunshot to the temple. Instead of killing him, it went straight across his head, just underneath his brain. It severed the optic nerve or whatever it's called on both his eyes and now he's blind. That has got to be the worst feeling ever to wake up in the hospital to find out you didn't succeed and that you're now blind.

To get on topic, I got netflix so I'm def gonna check this out tonight. I'm feeling real sick, so this will be good to keep my mind busy. Although I don't know if a movie about drugs is such a good idea when you're dopesick lol.

I can see both sides...
In the heat of the moment, I imagine if I were trying to put my brain out with a bullet and failed, I'd simply let another round off.
However, as someone who's lived through an extremely bloody wrist, and also a huge amount of acetaminophen consumed for a bad reason, I definitely know there's moments of "damn, glad it didn't end now that I'm thinking straight"..

yeah that line of reasoning annoys me to no f'in end....
Seldom hear xtianity thrown into the mix, but have always been dumbfounded by the "I only use things that come from the ground". It's never even some 'earthy' thing, it's always a(n incredible) naivete re the product(s) being used/avoid.
