I have a general checkup tomorrow, and I'll be seeing an actual psychiatrist in the coming weeks. Now, I'm not a junkie and I don't deem my drug use to be medically relevant. I fully realize that I am not a doctor and I don't know what is and isn't medically relevant, but I fear that if I admitting to taking my friend's prescriptions/illicit drugs will dissuade them from prescribing narcotic drugs that will actually benefit my anxiety or depression (or not give me morphine if I break a leg sometime in the future or something).

Thoughts on this? I have a buddy who lies to his doctor through his teeth, but I want to seek the council of the intarnetz.

Thank you all again.

If it's not in your system (i.e. detectable by drug screens) then you have nothing to worry about. Just don't accidentally say it later to the wrong person.

don't tell your doctor you've consumed recreational drugs. shit, don't tell anyone you've consumed recreational drugs.
