Doctor not seeing me anymore

Hello,

I was seeing my psychiatrist for adhd treatment and was put on vyvanse, dexedrine and a benzo for panic attacks. He saw me for a few months but now he just refills my prescriptions through the pharmacy. I haven't seen him in several months but spoke with him on the phone over a month ago.

Maybe he thinks I'm stabilized on the medication and there's no need to see me anymore? I just feel a bit isolated because this doctor seems very busy but he also helped me greatly with my adhd.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

To my knowledge psychiatrists don't really do counseling so much as they prescribe medications. This if you are stabilized then there is no reason to meet with you.

Now if you become destabilized aka want to talk about adjusting you medications then an appointment would be necessary

Mine does the same which is fine with me, it saves me money that I don't have.

Yeah as the others have said it isn't really common for medical professionals to see you repeatedly if they consider you to be doing well just to check you are ok. It's up to you to let them know if for any reason you feel there's a particular problem.
