DOC Stability

someone on a forum on another place on the internet said that his doc would evaporate after each time he opened it. I think this is not true and the dude prob had a bad scale or something but i am curious as the stability of 2,5-Dimethoxy-4-chloroamphetamine and as to storing it. Is it like all other phens and keeping it in an airtight bag away from sunlight will suffice?

thanks

I have stored DOC for 6 years at room temperature with absolutely no loss in potency. I'm confused at what this person meant by evaporate.

ya i dont know either haha. but i just thought i would post the question since i have some doc coming in the mail and dont want to do anything incidentally to screw it up.

For liquid dosing, it is indeed true that a small amount of water or alcohol evaporation will occur each time the vial is opened. But that will acutally cause an *increase* in subjective potency because each drop of liquid contains slightly less water and slightly more drug.

You don't have to worry about the DOC itself degrading or disappearing. There have been plenty of confirmed stories about 2C-X and DOX compounds lasting decades at room temperature. Probably the only thing that can really destroy these molecules is a strong oxidizer like bleach.

The 4-hydroxy tryptamines (psilocin and its homologs) are much more sensitive to degradation by heat and light. However even this has not been fully quantified. Some people reported 4-AcO-MIPT turning into a black goo after some time, and yet subjectively it was the same potency weight for weight.

DOC is super stable, esp in ethanol. i wanna say its fairly stable in water too; i just prefer alcohol solutions in general to rule out bacteria growth, etc. DOC is one of those chems that if you end of getting, say, a gram of, you may have it around a while, heh. shit, i got a couple grams of it a couple yrs ago and its surely a lifetime supply for me and my peeps. i have some that has remained at same potency for almost 2yrs now in a dropper bottle with a crew on top...mines not even refrigerated or anything, just kept in a dark container at room temp...although i'd suggest keeping temp controlled as with all chems.

not sure what else youre asking exactly- but yeah alcohol evaporates of course when left out in the open homie. just keep it in something with a cap on it, make sure its on tight...super simple. if it has been left open and you notice a decrease in the amnt of liquid present, im sure the doc will just recrystallize after alcohol evaporated. the doc itslef will not evaporate or be affected. just be sure to add whatever amount evaporated, if it is a significant decrease-otherwise you will have a more potent solution that is no longer the strength you had it calculated as. for example if you had 4ml of ethanol, and your solution was 1ml-2mg, and now you have 2ml, itg will be twice as potent. someone correct me if i am wrong but im pretty sure this is just a matter of simple science. with a potent chem like a DOx, its better to play it safe and make a solution thats not too concentrated,so as to have little impact on situations such as slight evaporation of liquid over time. make sure the solution is mixed well w correct amnt of liquid, and youll be fine:). i cant imagine this happening tho unless you had it out wide open in a cup or something sitting out for a significant amnt of time, in which case you need to put tht shiz somewhere safe!lol.

hope that helps

yea. thanks for the replies. i figured it would be fine, but i just saw sum dude's post on another site about him saying loss of potency/amount of chemical or whatever and thought to be safe and ask. super excited to try this chem out!
