DOC - First Time (9 mg) - Weaving the tapestry of the mind

9mg was absolutely fantastic and fairly manageable to boot. I am looking to go a bit deeper down the rabbit hole though. Somewhere like all the way.

I disagree with you GreenBarts the best part of my experience happened past the 13 hour mark. 18 hours is about the end of the best effects.

Next time I do this its going to be purely introspective. I plan on having no interruptions from the outside world so i can focus wholly on the trip.

This is to yaesutom: I would have to agree on some parts about what your friend said about the aliens. It seems they are constantly watching us. Like an experiment of some sort. They told me that they had been watching me for some time now. Though they did not say why. I certainly believe there is some great purpose as to why. Communicating with them was like having a massive amount of information being jammed into my head all at once. Not just thoughts emotions and ideas but pictures sounds smells and other things that my brain could not comprehend.
My visions of the vortex were not snap shots really. It was a continuous feed that I had to concentrate on to look into. When they started coming out of the vortex the flow of sights and information being relayed to me was literally constant and at some points overwhleming. I could open my eyes at any time but I forced myself to keep watching. If anything my vision was going at a faster framerate than normal. My perceptions were enhanced extremely. I could do any normal action comfortably (though driving a car probably wouldnt have been advisable).

I can do those things while im on it too. You gotta look for the vortex. its not like it just overwhelms all your senses. I found it inside my head and when I did it really started to dominate the experience.

Hell, I just did DOC and I was chatting to a pre-tripper (my tripping 'sitter'[/buddy] this time around) about this vortex thing and saw a pretty vivid picture of it that I seem to have had forever... it just seemed insistent, as opposed to the fluffiness of the other stuff that floated through my head then. I'm quite sure I could go visit it if I really tried to, so the next time I trip, I will aim for it.

ya at first for me it felt like I could see it but I couldnt enter it. After some concentration and focus on the vortex and trying hard I entered. Or it entered me. Honestly its hard to tell which of the two actually occurred either I jumped into it or it poured into me.

this makes sense cause we only use about 10 percent of our brain, or maybe we aren't aloud to use more then 10 percent?

If you are only using 10% of your brain… well lets just hope you are not choking on your own drool… The human brain is a nifty organ. It will prune unused neurons or dendrites and promote new synaptic connections. You are probably using most all of the brain you have, you just might not be doing so very efficiently.

Software is where the action is at… are you personally running Catholicism 2.7, Islam 2.1, Protestant 1.9, Atheism 1.0, Newtonian Mechanics 1.6, Einsteinian Space-Time Shareware, Quantum Mechanics Expansion Pack, Transfinite Numbers Screen Saver, M-Theory Beta Test, Discordian Instant Messenger, or some other BS (Belief System)?

Where did this silly catch-phrase ever start from? It has no basis in science or reality. I've looked at many PET scans, and other means of mapping brain activity. I've yet to see one where only 10% of the whole organ is used, and the rest is asleep.

As illuminati boy pointed out, we use all of our brain. We just don't use it very efficiently.

FNORD!

ah why must everything eventually turn to mindless drivel? what starts out a conversation about a truly mystical experience resorts to teasing and gloating.

It makes me wonder why I even bother sharing an experience like this. There are some of you who can understand but more often than not its like im back in junior high all over.

PS: GreenBarts driving on any psychedelic is simply irresponsible.

Kidding aside, I found the report quite informative. You did a good job of attempting to lyrically convey what must have been a pretty ineffable experience.

Also on a serious note, when trying any new (to you) research chemicals really watch that tendency to dose high and/or try other compounds shortly afterward. Either could lead to some pretty bad results. Further, should you take the dosage higher, it would probably be best to only go up in 1 mg. increments (at most) as no one knows yet if this will or will not have a crucial point where every mg. roughly doubles effects as with say 2C-E.

DOC is 4-chloro-2,5-dimethoxyphenylisopropylamine.

Come on, I don't think he's deriving any special self-worth from that fact that he did 9mg. No one else had a report over 8mg, so he struck out and made one. Are you suggesting that this report wasn't worthy?

^^^

I'm suggesting that its pathetically stupid to choose a starting dose for a research chemical based on what 'one ups' what everyone else has done so far. And, yes, its for his ego, what rational reason would there be? And if you don't like what I'm saying, tough shit. I don't want others to be encouraged to follow his pathetically stupid example and so I'm spoiling his little party. This forum is not here for people to praise one another for doing stupid things.

^^
Hey, I wouldn't take 9mg for my first dose either. Hell, I'll probably never take above 6mg.

But how are we going to know what the limits of a substance are unless some people are willing to push it?

But... we also know most people find their target dose of DOC between 3mg and 6mg, with an exception of a few people under that and a few people who require more than that for a similar trip. Fortunately these higher dose reports don't really seem to have much greater indication of toxic/overdose effects. So far all I've heard about is scattered reports of nausea, one mention of a 50% or so elevated heart-rate, and one or two mentions of --mild-- vasoconstriction.

So Glogga let's keep the hateraide over in PD, where you seem to think it belongs. Maybe I got a better feel for Trip Reports than you do (having written a shiteload of 'em and modded this forum back in the day)-- and my feeling is that this is not a forum for flaming people and starting arguments. That conduct is especially not expected from other forums' moderators. Trip Reports has a pretty good crew, let 'em do their job as they see fit.

Almost everything everybody does is to satisfy their egos. Unfortunately not everyone has achieved your "guru" status.

Again: You can get away with censoring and flaming people (to satisfy your ego, no doubt) in your own forum. This is Trip Reports bro... keep it breezy on this side of the fence.
