Do you think that 4-aco-dmt is more dangerous than mushrroms?

From erowid, side effects of mushies:

NEGATIVE
intense feelings of fear
headache, usually as effects wear off, sometimes beginning the next day, lasting for up to 24 hours
nausea, gas, gastrointestinal discomfort, especially when mushrooms are eaten raw and/or dry
mild to severe anxiety
dizziness, confusion
lightheadedness or fainting (in cases of lowered blood pressure)
can precipitate or exacerbate latent or existing mental disorders
working memory disruption (reduced ability to do tasks requiring current remembering and attention)

side effects of 4-ACO-DMT:

NEGATIVE
(likelihood of negative side effects increases with higher doses)

anxiety / fear
difficulty speaking
motor impairment
stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, gas
intense or overwhelming visual disturbances
overwhelming thoughts and ideas
disturbing hallucinations/mental visions
paranoia / insecure feelings
sweating / chills / flushing
(severe) uncomfortable stimulation (mental and physical)
sleeplessness
(significantly) elevated heart rate
muscle fatigue/pain/aching

(severe) mental confusion

What do you mean by "dangerous?" I wouldn't necessarily consider many of these side-effects to be dangers. In fact, a lot of them are just aspects of a bad trip that a user will generally not encounter at all during a positive experience.

It is probably harder to eat two ounces of mushrooms than it is to eat 200mg of 4-aco-DMT... so in that aspect, I guess mushroom are safer.

Otherwise I doubt there really is much difference. I suspect some strains or types of psilocybin containing mushrooms might actually be more dangerous in very high doses.

I would say 4-aco might be more dangerous, because it's a raw powder that could be contaminated or whatever, but if you didn't know what you were doing you could just as easily eat random poisonous shrooms, so I'd say they're about equally dangerous... but shrooms might be a little safer just like cannabis is generally a little safer than synthetic cannabinoids. I'ts just inherently more dangerous to have pure, potent powder, a sack full of molecules. Also it could be contam'd with whatever of course (precursors, poison).. but hypothetically anything you eat could be poisoned, it's all a matter of probabilities...

as far as the drugs themselves, I think pure psilocin, psilocybin, and psilocetin are some of the safest drugs out there, right up there with cannabinoids. It has to do with what happens on OD imo, E.G. you generally don't die, which is good! not dying is good!

Aside from the obvious questions of all RC's including identity, purity, and contamination: I'd say 4-AcO-DMT is no more dangerous or safe than psilocin itself.

Mushroom hunting of course has its own identity and contamination risk, as well as the fiber and protein content that may cause allergic or gastric reactions in a tiny percentage of people.

Constituents of mushrooms:

Psychoactive (or potentially so): 4-HO-DMT, 4-PO-DMT, “4-HO-T, desmethyl analogs of psilocin, and esters in various amounts. Some [naturally growing “magic” mushrooms] also contain the N,N,N-trimethylaminium version of 4-HO-DMT.” (Quoted is from sekio: 17-06-2011).

Non psychoactive: mushroom flesh, which may contain unknown natural toxins, and may also be infected by natural toxic molds. “God” creates deadly toxins and doles them out at random not giving a fuck who eats it.

Constituents of a decent synthesis of 4-AcO-DMT: 4-AcO-DMT and a small percentage of unreacted precursors/negligible amounts of synthesis byproducts that are unlikely to be dangerous in the amounts ingested in an active dose of 4-AcO-DMT.

As others have noted, the danger of using 4-AcO-DMT comes from the fact that it is active at far smaller quantities than mushrooms. In other words, it’s more dangerous because people fuck up how they use it (incompetence = risk). While it is possible that 4-AcO-DMT is, by itself, more dangerous than what it theoretically breaks down to, 4-ho-DMT, this risk is unlikely as the differences between the molecules are extremely subtle and 4-AcO should quickly metabolize to 4-ho.

In my opinion, if you’re smart and follow proper safety protocol 4-AcO-DMT is intrinsically less dangerous than mushrooms. In my assessment of the societal-level reality of drug culture in which ignorant motherfuckers gain access to powerful and potent chemicals that they have no idea how to use, 4-AcO-DMT is more dangerous than mushrooms.

Assuming both are from good sources, and you know they are really what they're supposed to be, I think they are both safe.
