Do you think it would be morally wrong for a dealer to do this?

Most big time dealers have a business mind, not a friendly mind.

Yeah sure, they're your friend as long as you're doing business with them. I've had a dealer try to pull something similar to this.

Nah I don't think he did anything wrong, assuming everyone who took that needle willingly was an adult...we make our own decisions, and these people weren't forced. There are some people who woulda never took the free needle, no matter what. Free will man. I used to feel some guilt about providing for certain friends and watching them go downhill, but I'm not their mommy and never forced anyone. So assuming this dealer is just offering, it's up to the individual where they wanna go with it after that, I think. Just my 2 cents.

I think that this is wrong both morally and from a business standpoint. It is morally wrong for obvious reasons. The reason that I think that it is actually bad for business is because most people that IV heroin seem to end up needing to quit or go to rehab faster than those that are snorting it.

Right, folley, that's kinda the asshole move to keep offering to the other 6 til they take it...but I still say it's not morally wrong. Also though I was thinking, a lot of people who do dope have been around needles plenty and still made a conscious decision not to shoot up. Like, my husband, he NEVER woulda done it, free dope or not. Shit he woulda taken the free shot and broke off the needle and used it some other way. So if these people were swayed that easily, it seems they were probably gonna try it at some point assuming they kept getting high. I don't know, IV heroin may cause people to go to rehab or die and shit, but there's always more where they came from.

Morally wrong, yes that is quite fucked up. A guy that worked in the rehab that I went to was dating this girl that was just snorting OC at the time. Her dealer refused to sell her anything unless she would shoot it up because everyone else was doing it. She went through a couple days of being sick and gave in and let the dealer shoot her up. Long story short, her best friend was in rehab with me as well and the two girls both had the same dealer. I thought the story was bullshit until he told the story about his girlfriend in front of a group of people, including her best friend. She started crying and told everybody that she was with the girl when it happened. So, shit like this actually does happen.

Wow, wiggi, I posted that I didn't really think it was morally wrong (free will and all that) but after that story, I might change my mind...that is just awful! The guy definitely sounds like a cold-hearted greedy asshole!

Yep its wrong, heroin is addictive and the dealer used this to his advantage.. he exploited a vulnerability in a person and used it for his own benefit.. the person was stupid enough not to realised what he was doing. If before hand people had said " i wanna try IV heroin" and he gave them a free be t let them try it.. sure no problem but he must have realised some number out of 30 of those is going to end up being a complete bum and living for heroin.

Good business mind though :)

this is where he turns from a business man into an immoral asshole IMO

I agree with this. Its a very intelligent plan and these people have their own mind and can make decisions for themselves but after the person has said they dont want to use the needle then he should just leave it there. I wouldnt be surprised if he loses customers because most people would be smart enough to realise what he's doing, that he's obviously not a very trustworthy guy and that their health and wellbeing is not in his best interests.
Ive given 3 people their first shots and its not something im proud of considering after that one of those guys OD'd a few times and who knows where the others are, hopefully not dead. Lastly I would personally never buy anything already mixed up, sometimes people sell homebake heroin(H made from morphine pills) around here in fits and you can never be sure its a new fit. Most new users probably wouldnt know the dangers of sharing needles, I say this because im the only IV user I know of in my area that doesnt have HepC.

So I dont agree with what this guy is doing but I will admit its intelligent. I just hope he's using clean fits :/

surely selling drugs is illegal and morally wrong in the first place.

Theres good money in drug dealing for a reason, its very risky on many levels. Imo you wouldnt do this as a dealer because it would maybe turn people againt you, something that can be the end if your a dealer!

When i was dealing (not H mind you) i alwasy made it one of my main USP's never to do anyone a bad turn and alwasy being people friend,

An example of this is i used to have turntables in my big expensive flat, there was a big coirner couch and loads of space so used to host all the parties. (two of the younger girls tidied up my flat for £30 each which was mutually benefitial as they had a hard time of there alchoholic parents, i was single and they use to do my clothes etc too. I alwasy out some stuff out for my pals when i was doing well and they would buy 8th and quarters etc and sniff it ith me. But when they started fiending even tho i could have a bar upstirs i sometimes had to say to them look mate i know wht you earn and i know you cant afford more so im sorry i cant give you more. i could afford it and never particulary needed the money on time although it caused arguments they alwasy thanked me for my sense. A few times i said i cant sell you more but i will stick a bit out.

as a dealer you have to remeber that your only ever a phone call from a pissed of customer/customers pal away from getting busted. Therefore you dont want to put people in a corner cause if people get desperate enough they will rat you out!

Alwasy leave people with a smile on there face was my motto.
