Do you think chasing pills (benzos and opioids m) with hot tea/water etc makes them absorb faster (empty stomach)?

I’ve been doing it because it makes sense on paper but not sure if it’s been studied

Yeah nothing in the literature, but the concept of brownian motion would apply here I think. By putting the pills into a hot solution you speed the Brownian motion a bit which could lead to a more equally distributed solution in the stomach, which could lead to a more easily absorbed pill. If the pill were in cold water im sure it would still hit but with the hot water it could hit faster or possibly cause more of the drug to be absorbed at once than if the pill were whole and in cold water.

So I agree in principle but cant provide any evidence besides some basic physics properties leading to a more homogenized stomach content.

I don’t put the actual crushed pill into the tea (would taste to nasty) but I imagine this would be the best way of all.

I always felt like the emptier the stomachs the better so it doesn’t get absorbed into the food then you have to wait for the food the be broken down.

But a little something does kickstart digestion and alter pH so u could be right

In my experience the best thing is actually diet coke for most things (except amphetamines) especially plant matter.

what I would do is make as concentrated of a solution as possible, the absolute least about of water say that could fit into a 000 capsule

loading the capsule right before consumption would prevent dissolution of the capsule and prevent the taste

I used this method for cannabinoid tinctures, I kept the concentration high enough to fit the whole dose in a capsule. ofc can use multiple capsules but that's dealer's choice

I find it better to never to employ gel caps they take a while to dissolve I think

ime they dissolve pretty quickly even with only water which is why I wait to fill

pills can always be dissolved ahead of time, even in a volumetric solution for easy future dosing

True fact……place a tablet in cold glass of water, place another same tablet in HOT tap water……wait 20-30 sec, amd swirl both glasses around. Hot water will be a white cloudy soup……cold water tablets still in tact

I had a bottle from pharmacy once had a sticker on side….,Do Not consume with hot beverages lol…..only time I’ve seen that….smart….cause they know. That compressed tablet will dissolve waaayyyyy faster in hot water allowing all the drug to release at one

I do it all the time……put my cocktail of tablets in glass with hot water, they break apart in 20 sec into nothing…..cloudy powder in drink. Add orange juice and cold water, drink ……fastest onset

This why Methadone and coffee go hand and hand. I dissolve Methadone tablets in coffee in my mouth before swallowing. The coffee masks the taste very well.

Thanks for sharing this, I am going to start drinking hot tea or water with my other meds. I looking forward to trying this with Lunesta tonight.

Interesting topic. How do we take our pills and things. I always take pills, acid, anything (except gabapentin) I am going to take on an empty stomach. I chew them. Have seltzer. Then 15 minutes later have a few crackers with peanut butter and some more seltzer. I have a fast metabolism. Seems most things kick in at 15 minutes. Gabapentin I stagger and eat food over the few hours with it.

I dump the gabapentin out of the gel cap. But basically I chew gel caps before I swallow for other things. Vitamins too. A capsule will never enter my stomach without being ripped open a bit. Makes me wonder if there are gel caps that do not dissolve in the stomach. Some are tough, some are paper thin. But I understand stomach acids could dissolve a rug if needed.

But I will check out the hot tea or liquid ingestion. Yes thanks for the info all.

Ya, I know lol…..hence the super sweet orange juice/pineapple juice to mask the bitter taste of the compounds

Just like in the original recipe for the Brompton cocktail…..circa 1800’s

Liquor Morphini Hydrochloride
Cocaine HCL
Tincture Cannabis Indica
Gin
Syrup (sweet)
Chloroform water

End stage comfort & content, mentally alert to communicate with loved ones (stimulant) morphine is very sedating mixed with Indica cannabis, with that warm blanket of euphoric bliss from “plant of joy” (opium poppy) lol

I have my own recipe due to long term chronic pain……taken daily for 10+ years

Methadone 100-125mg (120 oral tablets monthly)
Ritalin (Methylphenidate) 50-70mg IR
Diazepam 30mg
Alprazolam 1mg
Pregabalin 300mg
Gin 2.oz per drink (4-6 over 3 hours or so)

All pulverized (minus the Gin) in same glass and hot water to dissolve, OJ added + cold water, drink…..30min onset. 1h near peak serum levels

Often, benzodiazepine aren’t added. Currently an IM injection of Avizafone (Pro-Diazepam) 60-80mg in shoulder muscle (= Valium 30-40mg but higher C-max & faster T-max) water soluble pro-drug

Most important component hands down is a potent Opioid + Dopaminergic Stimulant….plus Ethanol to cause that spark, to ignite the fuzz for critical mass BOOM (safe for tolerant individuals with years of tolerance)
