In that i mean do you share your drug knowledge with others in your area ?
In my situation, no one in one hundred miles has ever hear of bl, erwoid, etc..
I have learnt much from bl, phreex and other mods. And i love passing the knowledge on.
I can't believe how stupid some people in my area are. Its like 5HT-what ?, 2ct-who had no idea how nice benzo's can be. Never knew about OTC DXM, pain meds, research chems etc... And most importantly harm reduction.
Its like aren't you bored of constanly smoking weed and drinking beer ? try some dmt, then lets see what we can blag from the doc.
So how is it for everone else ?

very ignorant attitude. do you want me to consider you to be stupid because you cant program in perl and xhtml ? i guess not.
not knowing something is not being stupid. therefor knowing something does not indicate intelligence at all. you should think about that and then 'rate' people again.
but back to your original question, yes i do (try to) pass my knowledge on, sadly people dont appreciate it at all and run around like they 'learned' it on themselves.
it gets a little annoying but if i can prevent anything bad - ohwell.
i think the ecstasy culture is the worst example.. it has developed over years that 14yr olds buy some pills from someone and eat them somewhere, sometime. nobody really knows about it, nobody actually cares, everyone believes in myths... that is because 1) some people are ignorant, and MANY of these troubled teeny ravers are stupid and ignorant.. 2) people dont die too often and mostly, you can buy something from somebody, pop it and have a good time (even though there is no 'quality control' (given that you dont e-z test))
when i get laughed at by etards when i tell them facts about E, i usually let them run against the wall and i dont care if they fuck up..
regarding other drugs i dont know much, but i try to pass on the basics on occasion.

Pasha, at least you said, "and most importantly harm reduction".
From the tone of your post I don't think that harm reduction is most important to you when you are bragging to others about your use or knowledge of other drugs.
Obviously it's important to educate users about the safest way to use drugs, but I don't think it's necessary to encourage people to try other drugs until they are ready.
It's so easy for young people to be influenced for the wrong reasons. If I were young and I hear somebody raving about a drug I've never tried, I'm going to try the drug so I can: a) experience the drug and b) brag to others about using this drug.
Educating myself about the drug would not be a priority.
I enjoy Bluelight, erowid and other drug sites for their educational and entertainment value, but a users health is still not encouraged enough.
 
True. It is ridiculous how many drugs some people consume in comparison to how much information they know about what they are actually taking. Mindblowing!
 
hey, i live in holland and none of my friends have ever heard about bluelight.
i met a guy a couple of weeks ago,who told me that he got some hardcore mitsubishi`s with brown heroin-speckles.....i had my laughs and told him that theres no such thing as heroin in xtc.he didnt believe me because he said he had been there when his xtc producer friend put the heroin in the pills.......i gave up.

Well even if there is heroin pills (this is preferable) then there is only going to be trace amounts. It is simply going to be expensive to afford to get heavy handed with the sugar.

As for telling others about my drug knowledge, all of my friends come to me when it comes to drug input, I'm the "resident pharmacist" in my circle of friends. People I do not know if they ask a question that I do have knowledge about I'm more than happy to help and I do normaly fill them in on Bluelight and Erowid.

Errr....I didn't really mean that. Well, yeah, I did, but nevermind. Truth of the matter is, I share my knowledge as much as possible and I *do* correct people. But I have a reputation for knowing my shit in a period where people didn't know too much.
First on my block to own an EZ-Test, etc.

Can't really blame them for being *clueless* - there isn't a lot of info out there on this stuff, honestly, off-line the only place people have to turn is their friends or those they meet in line at raves - the public, like 75% of everyone is TOTALLY CLUELESS about drugs - they know what they see on TV .. if you have talked to your average raver, you will know they are TOTALLY oblivious to ANYTHING LOGICAL...
This is just our area of intrest - I couldn't name you three things about football, there is the quarterback, the tuchdown... and thats it as far as I am concerned.. but I can name every opioid receptor site in the brain - why? Drugs interest me, not much else does...
I no longer share my wealth offline, I simply nod and say "ok" .. I used to be the one trying to educate everyone, but it's pointless.. I have argued the heroin in pills issue TO DEATH, I mean, you can give all the factuall information you want, but ravers are idiots and would rather listen to "their boy" who knows the guy who knows the guy who makes them, and they know for SURE that "those brown specks are heroin"...
Offline I don't say a damn thing, I play dumb, let the others argue about the mescaline in the pills causing the visuals..

all i can say is thank god for the internet. i've learned so much since i started reading about drugs and i always try to educate my friends. you have to realize that many people and many of your friends are probably retards and believe whatever the dealer tells them. my one friend swore that there was coke in these new pills coming to town and i've had to explain it to him on 3 seperate occasions why this isn't possible. some people just don't learn.
 
There is also the issue of going against popular opinion - if all of your raver friends KNOW there is heroin in pills because [insert stupid, moronic reason that some idiot babled out in a drug induced fit], then it's not going to make you "cool" or "hip" if you argue against this...

I totally agree with the going against popular opinion.
Its like when some guy come out with there's coke in these pills. Everyone smiles and gets a nice extra placbo buzz. I contradict him with an intelligent response, only for everyone in the click to tell me to shut the fuck up.
I swear if Drug dealing was legal, it should be paramount to have a university degree before someone could sell drugs.
 
Thought I would share this with you:
I started dabbling in drugs about a year ago, well into my twenties. I was fortunate enough to have found Bluelight and erowid immediately, and have always been dilligent in doing my research before trying anything new, and exercising caution.
A very good friend of mine, who has been a recreational user for about 12-13 years (mostly weed and painkillers), recently tried some x for the first time in a decade.
He knows about my recent experiences, so he called me up to tell me about what he got, and what a great time he had. Then he asks me, "Did you know they make ecstacy in powder form?"
Ummm... yeah. :P
He tells me he's gotten some more for the following weekend, so I start sharing some knowledge with him. First of all, I told him that he should really wait a month or so before rolling again. Then I go ahead and tell him some of the precautions to take, how to maximize his roll, and to take some 5-htp to help with the 'morning after'. Then I add that, while he was at it, could he pick up a couple extra for me?
I talk to him again the following week, and I ask him if he managed to get me some. He tells me no, because the pills were shit. Turns out that despite my advice, he dropped two pills the following weekend. And while he did all the roll tricks I told him, he didn't post-load, even though his buddy did, and he had it right there to take!
So he tells me they were crap pills and must have been loaded with speed, because even though he had a great roll, he felt cracked out for the next three days.
People just don't fucking listen. I give my friends the links to erowid and BL, and tell them all I know, but I guess you have to let them figure it out for themselves, sometimes.
 
I agree with PhreeX's first post above. That about sums it up as far as dealing with other people. I have learned and still learn quite a bit here and I have had many arguments with friends about the heroin thing, and many other rumors. It's gotten to the point where I just say, yeah OK, whatever. It's like an uphill battle.

or how about conversation #2 the same night:
good friend (basically a pothead that has gotten into "harder" stuff buit doesn't know shit and isn't willing to learn): "freebase isn't crack"
me: "yeah it is, cocaine is cocaine hydrochloride, crack is just cocaine w/o the hydrochloride group on the colecule, hence the molecule being 'free' and it is in a 'base' form, hence 'freebase'"
good friend: "naw dude. freebasing is jsut when you put coke in water and heat it and smoke it"
big fat greek kid: "YOU SNORT COKE YOU SMOKE CRACK. IT'S SIMPLE AS THAT!"
me: "yeah you can smoke coke by trying to vaporize it but that doesn't work veyr well. the freebase has a lower vaporization temperature and so people smoke it."
good friend: "yeah you can smoke coke, that's freebasing."
me: "NO@! i just told yuo! freebasing IS CRACK. CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK. it's fucking freebasing!"
good friend: "naw you're wrong. where'd you hear that? THE INTERNET! HA!! HAHAHAHAHAHA"
at that point i was about to go get a gun and shoot them both..
ignorance isn't "not knowing" but ignorance is denying the correct knowledge. THAT'S annoying.
btw, since when did "the internet" become a sespool of false information. there's definately a lot of it, but damn, it sure does have a bad name.
