First recommendation that is related to the forum, thank you!
Overlook: A Story About Drugs, Disappointment and The American Dream
By Matt Mccusker is a good one i read recently. Subject matter relevant to the this forum. Lots of drug use woven into the storyline.
My man Stephen can cook! Im actually reading It right now. Very dense and a lot of details, but damn that slaps you on how immersive this man can be!Well I love Steven King.
He's known for horror sci fi, but he's got some fantasy books that are very good too. And short stories.
My favorite:
The Dead Zone
The Tommy Knockers
The Green Mile
Under The Dome
The Regulators
Fantasy:
Fairy Tail
The eyes of the dragon
Short stories:
The Bachman Book (lots of people don't know about this, one of his earliest, under a pseudonym)
You Like It Darker
He has many more famous ones (the stand, It, The Shining, ect) but those are not some of my favorite. I'm sure many would love to argue about that though.

I dont do classic books lol. Like you said, i had to read some of them in school, but im from Brazil, so the classics were different but still boring lol. Never touched the mistery genre. I do like anime, horror, maybe some lovecraft as well.I know this might be obvious, but have you read or are interested in the Beat generation writers. ( kerouauc, Burroughs, William S, ect)
I have a sizeable book collection. Also, book collections I inherited. Not valuable, just lots on many subjects.
I have always found my self ingulfed more in non-fiction that is of historical nature. Political histories and conspiracy are fascinating.
Absurdist fiction, easy read; Becket, Waiting for Gadot. Play.( let me guess, no shit Sherlock). Have you gone through what are regarded as top 100 of western literature classics. I swear some of those just suck. Usually the ones we had to read in school.
Speaking of Sherlock, what about mystery? Are you an insomniac? Then try Russian literature.lol War and peace. Fuck that, just shoot me.
I have a collection of all sorts of the type of books you described. My little sister was into that and anime, scifi , horror, strange stuff also. I just boxed it up and stored it or left it.
From the description I will assume you read Nick Cave's, The Death of Bunny Munro. Do you wanna know what Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting wrote on the Jacket? If you haven't read it, tell me and I will give you the discription he gave.
Im reading It, the thing. I like to read only 1 book at a time to really focus on itYeah he actually has a lot of different styles.
And not to put him on blast but he used to do lots of coke.
I believe that's what The Tommy Knockers is so tweaky lol
BTW - what you reading?
I have a great box collection of individual cuisine from around the world ,thankfully Scotland isn't included lol![]()
Recipes. And collections. This one is wonderful and so traditional.
I do like to write my own recipes too at times, though.
And I really like this treasure and it's artistic gleam. A Nice One.
It got kind of dusty. Sry I'm a little rustic now. lol.
I always know the recipes I've made the most cos the page is covered in sauceI like those fat books because I don't forget which line I just read since the pages are thinner
I have an old recipe book that starts with basic cuts of meat ,showing the parts on animal and how tough or tender etc they areAnother thing I like is his books rarely ever start slow. They usually are action from the beginning. Less so his fair tail type books but otherwise

It then moves on to dairy and types of milk and cheese ,its worth a read just by itself .
Sorry was miles off ,thought you meant cook bookI always know the recipes I've made the most cos the page is covered in sauce

A dwindling trade nowadays with all the supermarkets.I had one of those books before. They are a very good ' reference. '
However, like other things in life. They get took or they ' vanish ' somehow.
Cuts of meat are a skill to know. My Granpa
was Butcher.
