When people buy physical DVDs/CDs, most keep the disc in the case. Or do they? I've heard of more and more people who toss the case and keep the discs protected either in a "disc storage wallet" or the spindle from blank discs, or just laying around... ;) Jokes aside, how do you store discs? And how many do you have to store?

I have approximately 50 DVDs, probably half that amount in CDs. All the cases are empty and yet I still hang on to them. 8) The only paranoia I have with the "disc storage wallet", is that if that was ever stolen, there goes hundreds of dollars. :-/

DVDs stay in their original boxes. CDs go in one of the wallet type things, though I still do retain the cases in large messy stacks.

Store my dvd's in the case. Music and other i store in sleeves and such. Which i need to buy up some more cus am way outta room. Music is also ripped incase of scratches or other damages.

ill accidently step on the case, break it, then keep a stack of all my cds/dvds so theyll get scratched faster so i can just download it illegally

Whaaaat people still have DVDs and CDs? Lol :p
Seriously, I have about 20 DVDs in total, I keep them in their case. I don't think I have a CD at all. I like keeping the DVD cases because it keeps them organized.

Even if I put my CDs or DVDs in a holder, I always keep the cases. I kind of enjoy collecting them. I'm a big fan of cover art work on albums, since the DVD covers are usually pretty lame.

At my house we are collectors so we keep the cases. We have some 1,000+ albums, 500+ cassettes, a little less than 10,000 CDs, probably around 10-12,000 movies (dvd, blueray, vhs, and beta-we haven't done an exact count in a while). All this pales beside the book collection though which is easily 25,000 although now it's reached the point where much of this stuff has to live in storage.

DVDs yes, but not for any other reason than to contain, I would download all my films if I had the time or bandwidth.

BUT CDs are a treasure to flick through the booklet - it's all about the art, and it's just not the same downloading, even with the artwork - it's tangible...it's ritual to gaze at teh artwork with appreciation.

i keep all my movies in their original cases. for DVDs i've had 10+ years, this is a problem. the plastic circle that that the disc snaps into eventually causes the DVD to crack along the edges of the hole. i hear this problem was addressed in the design of blu-ray discs.

^go on ;)

i threw away all my cases and covers to cds and dvds. i only keep them for video games.... i'd say blu-rays too, but i only own three of those.

I have probably a hundred or so CDs at my parents house. Most are classic 80s/90s rap albums with a couple from the 00s and recent years.

Gotta keep the case. It's the only reason to buy a CD anymore, especially when iTunes has bonus tracks that the physical CD doesn't usually have.
