We're looking to add more to our totally awesome Basic Drug Discussion Moderating Team.

Anyone interested in becoming a new BDD moderator, send in an application to me, effie, Oxide, alasdairm, and Tripman

* your drug of choice (I'm serious)
* region you live in - basic biographical data - doesn't have to be too specific
* what time zone you live in
* why you're interested
* why you believe you'll be a good fit
* any relevant experience/education
* how much time you can dedicate to the position
* any other relevant information about you
* a little bit about who you are



Right now the deadline is Sunday, February 19th at 5pm Eastern U.S. time (that's 10pm GMT/UTC/England time) However this may be extended, but get those apps in soon!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact any staff member (listed above).

Seriously hehe.. modding is great, I love it. There is responsibility involved, so do think carefully about that, but it is a lot of fun too :D It's not just closing/moving/editing/infracting (although that is a big part of it ofc, as is making judgement calls and discussing policy with your fellow mods etc) - you get the chance to be part of an amazing forum and help others, which is a fantastic feeling, and get more involved with the site behind the scenes. BDD is our baby and we all love modding here, so we want someone enthusiastic about HR and being part of the team to join us! I would like to encourage everyone who is thinking about it to apply or to ask if you have any questions, we'd be more than happy to answer them.

Last time I promised a hair clip to whoever got the position, which sadly went unclaimed, so that is up for grabs too.. ;)

ps the first test is working out how to pm your app to 6 people.. :D

EDIT2: After much deliberation, I figured out I could just send the PM two times :p
 
I went to my sent messages folder and forwarded the message to the final recipient, removing the (quote) tags from the essay.

Ooh. I like the idea of some fencing. Or a joust. Or maybe a swordfight to the death. I think we should do that if we can't decide between two applicants ;)

How many posts do you have to have to become a moderator? If there isn't a limit then what's the average post a new moderator has? I'm not trying to hijack this thread if it's in the wrong place please move. Thanks
