Heroin Do you have to "chase" the dragon?

Im a very well rounded and experienced person when it comes to opiate use but have only tried heroin twice. So today I just picked up a gram of tar and am trying to decide what is the best way to consume this vinegary substance. I used to smoke hash oil and earwax off of foil at least 15 times a day and found its much more effective to not let it run and just cook it stationary on the foil until it turns to charcoal. That gave me much bigger rips then trying to move the foil around all of the time. Letting the hashoil/wax run down the foil just ended up not getting me nearly as high and wasted a lot.

So my question, is it better to let the tar run down the foil or just keep it in one spot? To me it sounds like one of those popular misinformation tips like "cooking the impurities off of the foil".
 
Also, I know black tar and heroin in general vary greatly in purity. But does anyone know what the average content of heroin or 6-MAM is in southern california? I bought it from surburbia not to far from LA and it looks like a tootsie-pop sucker that somone smashed. Slightly translucent, and still has a strong vinegar odor like it was fresh from the border. It's my first time actually having enough heroin to really try so I dont want to over do it. Even though my tolerance is 45mg of OC to put me in a good nod.

Thanks for any insight on methods of administration or dosing.
 
In my experiences, black tar is a lot more impure than powder heroin. I'd put a little bit on one spot, light the foil with it tilted, and let the tar flow down while accompanying it with the flame from the bottom. Try to move the lighter at the same speed the shits flowing down so it keeps getting heated and producing the most smoke.
 
I think you could freeze it and then chop it up and snort it, but I've never tried that myself
 
Yeah my first day using tar I dont think I could handle that pungent vinegar smell in my nostrils or throat. So is it more effective to make the heroin run as much as possible on the foil? And would it be better just to freeze then chop/crush it for snorting? What's the most efficient way of using next to needles? I have a needle phobia and dont care about the rush.
 
Heroin smokes differently than wax/oil even though they can both be smoked on foil. Heroin will smoke much better if you trail it, and after wards you can go over the trails and smoke them. I don't deal with needles so no experience there; although some of my good friends do and they say intravenous gets you much higher and conserves more drug. My favorite method is smoking. I tried snorting liquefied heroin and powdered heroin with unsatisfying effects. I used to have an earwax/hash water-cooled titanium and glass skillet(it broke a few weeks ago:(). At first I only used it for hash, wax, and other thc concentrates, but then I discovered it worked perfectly for heroin. From personal experience it's like taking in all the heroin smoke in one quick breathe as opposed to trailing a few times on foil. Now that I don't have a skillet I use foil and it still works great. Just trail it properly and you'll get nice big hits.
I don't use needles, because I get ridiculously high from just smoking substances with my low tolerance. Smoking does give me a large, overwhelming rush though and then it's ahhhhhhhhh, comfort, content, happy. :). I'm in San Dago area and my circle; we either get black-tar or brownish powder, both of which get me nodded every time I smoke. My friend calls the powder more of a shooter's(injecter's) dope and I have to breath on it to solidify it to smoke. The black-tar he calls more of a smoker's dope and I just throw that on cured foil and smoke up. About .2-.3 of either will get me nodded and if I smoke the rest of my half gram I'm daydream/audio hallucination nodding. There's my knowledge, hope it helps.
 
The reason for trailing the H along the foil is that it burns quite easily, thus wasting product. Because H has a low melting/evaporation point (correct me if I'm wrong here), you need to apply heat gently to get the most of it.

Also, as some posters already mentioned, with a bit of training you can get really huge hits off a trail.

Helped a lot. Same here, for the last year I've been smoking concentrates through foil or vapes. Youre right trailing it did work very well. Got me high ad hell.

No, you don't "have to" chase the dragon. You can simply avoid heroin addiction like the plague, like I do. :D And I've been off heroin for years.

Or, you can IV/snort heroin. You don't "have to" smoke heroin.

LOL you use a titanium skillet for heroin? =D That's hilarious.

I only use my titanium skillet for earwax/oil. %)

I'm sorry to hear your skillet broke!!! How did you break it? :( I would just buy another one for less than $50 online.
 
Essential vape I would smoke heroin through water cooling, unlike non-polar drugs like THC, a lot of it would get absorbed in the water. I use the Essential Vape that uses glass vials. It fits in the place of a bowl. But they make regular pipe vapes that look perfect for heroin.

Dude, forget that THC/heroin is water soluble. Both are. THC is just very poorly water soluble, and heroin is very water soluble.

You can dump out all water in my bong, use a curve, and still use the titanium skillet to vaporize the heroin all in one VOOMP and you'll get higher than you ever have smoking it before.

Trust me. :) Just dump the water out of your bong. Put in the titanium skillet curve. Get out the propane blow torch, heat up the skillet, swing, dab, VOOMP, you're high.
 
OK,I was thinking you were using water. THC has a water solubility so low the ammount absorbed in the bong is neglegent. Maybe if someone was using a 24" beaker base with 3 seperate percs it would be, but I doubt they'd care.
 
High as all hell! hahaha. One of my greatest nods was off two medium sized skillet loads of black-tar, I had a great rush and started nodding. I then managed to load up a dab of wax and prep the skillet again, Hit that coughed my ass off then threw up. I sat back down and had the best audio hallucinations and daydream nod. I like to use my smaller water-cooled pieces when using the skillet. I got a glass adapter to set it up with my 2ft stemless bong though and it works great if you've got the lungs, but I end up wasting smoke on the big piece because my lungs can't inhale that deep and as you know I'm sure when you're not inhaling on a skillet piece the smoke is drifting away.

And how the skillet broke, kinda ironic. Since I had started the use of opiates and meth I stopped drinking, and I used to drink a six pack a day usually. I have so far avoided serious addiction, but have been burned a few times; Using a week in a row and having 2-3 days of w/d. Anyways a few weeks ago I wasn't getting hard drugs on a weekend and was kinda bummed, so I went to a party with my friend and decided to drink after not having any alcohol for months. I had the first two beers and I felt them, I forgot what drunk felt like and forgot that I liked it. :) I got hammered, decided I was done with the party and drove my friend home insisting that I drive, then I got home walked inside my bedroom and tossed my backpack(the drug kit containing the skillet) by my couch and passed out. I didn't use the kit again for a week and the next time I did it was to smoke the .2 of heroin a good friend kicked me down, I was all excited becuase I'd been clean two weeks or so and I unwrapped the shirt holding the skillet removed the bag, and to my disbelief the neck of my bell skillet was shattered.:( There was the rest of the neck, the bell part with the actual titanium piece, and the middle of the neck shattered. I was pretty upset, but hey spilled milk right, it was my bad and I accepted that I should have been more careful with a delicate piece of glass. I still have the pieces as I refuse to toss it, I'm too fond of it hehe. But I will have a replacement this week!

You're right, THC's water solubility is very low, around 1mg/mL if I'm not mistaken. With some drugs like buprenorphine, 1mg/mL is all you would need. %) It's all about how potent the drug is, and what the solubility is. %)

LOL 3 separate percs... amazing. I have a bong with a 5 arm tree perc, I have bongs with no percs in them, and then I have my 11 arm tree perc ash catcher, 14 on 14 mm glass on glass, for both sides of it. %) =D

All in all I have two 1 foot tall bongs, 2 two foot tall bongs, 2 bubblers, and 2 bowls. It's like Noah's Ark in here when it comes to glass. =D I should take pictures of my glass family now, for the CD Social.
 
It takes some practice. A crucial key to catching the smoke is where you place the tube (or whatever your weapon of choice is) that you're inhaling the vapors through. Letting it run and chasing the vapors allows you to get way more hits then just roasting it up on one spot. Just took some practice, I can milk out hits like a boss. %)

I used to just burn up the gear in one spot, but obviously I learned you get significantly more hits out of chasing it... if you're good at it.

^This. For base H at least letting it run on a tilted foil under its own weight, or by pushing it along with the tip of the flame lets you get lots more out of it. You can still get plenty big hits from doing a full line, and it will be a lot more economical than heating on the spot which tends to just fraz the gear.

Heat it on the spot and you'll quite often see it boil hard, smoke, then just fraz to a black residue. The black residue means you've just burnt it, and burning heroin is a waste of good gear and good money. The whole point of the foil is that it allows controlled heat to get it to vapourisation temperature without going past to the burning point, the exact opposite of what you're doing heating on the spot where the temperature just goes up and up. Done right your bag will go a lot further.
