Do you change after using LSD?

i think even cannabis can change you mentally ,

as for asid or any psychedelics i think you gotta be on point, cuz they can be kinda unrelenting,

i know someone who got their shit together after a hardcore mushrooom trip
they got the insight to go to school , get the best possible grades, and get a good career, he is doing awesome now, making 100 k a year and traveling all over the world on business

sometimes peoples brains arent wired right for psychedelics and well they can go off swimming in the deep end

my 2 cent

I disagree in a way. You can transcend reality and enter a certain self-less/ego-less state of bliss which is a definite shift away from the mundanity of normal consciousness. Problems which exist(ed) in normality can drop away; revealed as the falsehoods they are. That is certainly a fun experience.

Yes, I agree regarding ego death. But when not entering that stage, at least I experience every feeling, be it happiness, sorrow, euphoria or terror extremely more intensely than in a "normal" state. The ego-less state is freedom from the bonds of normal "feelings", it's freedom from everything that is bound to the normal "I" and freedom from all obsessions and problems. It is truly a higher state of consciousness.

Edit: I notice i was a bit unclear earlier when I said you can not escape reality with LSD. I think it's best to illustrate what I meant with an example; some drugs make you quite indifferent and/or reduce fears and anxiety. Good examples would be opiates, GHB and benzos. LSD does not make you indifferent, it makes all senses hypersensitive. At least I often feel hypersensitive on LSD. Certain sounds, people, images etc. can provoke much stronger feelings than in a normal state of consciousness. Granted, the ego-less state is beyond this stage, but it requires a higher dose and the ability to completely go with the trip, to turn on, tune in and drop out.

About the fun part, I already tried to clarify it a few posts above ;) But I maintain my opinion that an introspective/spiritual experience will much more probably change you as a person than just plain fun.

I think it's maybe me (too) you're referring to about those saying LSD shouldn't be used for fun. First of all I think the experience is fun, by no means do I think that you can't have fun while having a spiritual experience. I have laughed and laughed for like 20-30 minutes on some trips but still have had introspective, deep experiences. So the best if a combination of both fun and introspective.

I wasn't referring to you, people I've encountered personally throughout my life who've taken acid.

well, if I decide to go for it, it'll be on a whim, then i won't have to worry about it. i'll let you guys know if that happens. muchas gracias! =]

I see thanks for the Advice people.

Well the truth is when i was about 12/13 i did have to see the doctor. I was hearing voices and stuff it wouldnt go away, but im not so sure that i have schizophrenia i was just going through a very bad stage in my life.

Its a shame really psychadelics have a huge appeal to me to at least try them once, but its not the first instance that someone has told me "Do not take LSD, especially with your family background, It will mess you up for life"

I can see that my older brother may well have it. I read the symptoms and lots about it, in the hope that maybe i could help my mother but i cant, but im definately sure that my older brother has it (I live with him so notice some off the odd ways and responses i get from him)

At the same time though, im very sensitive to drugs.
I found the DXM trip overpowering that i had, but that was 800mg.

Also when i K holed i didnt quite enjoy that (i did 3 lines) mainly because i was panicing that id taking too much and i might die, but i couldnt talk at this point. If i K hole again im sure i would enjoy the experience much more there was definately aspects of it that i like.

MDMA is a whole different story. Its my once a month getaway plan lol. I dont need much of it either and it just plasters my face with this massive smile at a rave. Its Brilliant ... then i remedy the comedown with orange juice and dark chocolate.

I must say though, ive done 100mg of pure mdma had that really smiley effect, energy to dance all night and didnt get a comedown, So if used in moderation MDMA is extremely good.

Well you never really stay the same even without LSD, when you think about it.

Life full of Ups and Downs.
Different people we meet.

Lots of things influence not only our thoughts but our actions and activities . . . Views..... Hell even our Interests!

Yeah, I mean think of the Manson family. Where would they be without all those positive changes caused by LSD? 8)

Difficult to blame one thing in a persons life for the murder tho. The Yorkshire Ripper said a whore once ripped him off for a fiver - which is why he spent the rest of his life putting a silk-lined v-neck over his legs so his balls were hanging over the neck enabling him to jack off while he knelt over a woman and knifed her.

i would say i'm still the same person, and i smoked DMT during the peak. i've only done acid once though. I think if you do multiple hits at once it could have the ability to change you. One of my friends had some piercings and after acid he took them all out and won't wear piercings to this day. it changed the way he thought about them.

don't expect too much from one hit. for me though, i would personally be scared of how hard i would trip if i took 4-5 hits and what would be going through my mind. the most i've ever considered taking is 2-3.

Correct, but i just think its irresponsible to make a blanket statement like "acid WILL change you for the better END DISCUSSION" when that simply isn't true. They certainly werent better people for it. Just more delusional.

I get what you're saying - I don't think acid makes anyone a better person just by taking it. But maybe acid had nothing to do with how delusional they were. The Yorkshire Ripper never had LSD and he was still pretty delusional.

It definitely didn't change me. It changed my boyfriend when he first tried it. But for me it was like, meh, not a big deal. It was nice and all but not "great". It didn't fuck with my head (which mushrooms do) and my body didn't feel messed up (like 2c-i and 2c-e) so it's probably my "favourite" psychedelic but not a big deal.
One tab would probably be just fine. Don't take more than one.
