Ive chewed oxy heaps of times & im wondering if ive been wasting them because ive never taken off the coating before doing so.
Im just wondering if taking off the coating before crushing or chewing the pill thoroughly makes it any stronger than if the pills coating was not taken off before hand?

Im used to chewing up 80mg of oxy or so to get the desired effect. Next time i do it, I dont wanna take off the coating & OD because im used to dosing with the coating on & it makes a considerable difference.

They're the old OC tablets cuz im from Australia & we dont have the new OP formula so they time release apparently is easy to break

chewing em works just fine and is the best ROA for them besides plugging imo.

its a common myth that the outside coating contains the time release mechanism for pills. This is however false.

Think about it. If your using the pill as directed and swallow it whole without tampering, it will hit your stomach, and the outside will be the first thing dissolved.

so keep chewin them OC's you lucky bastard. I would give my left nut for some OC's. Havent seen em in years.

Well, i'd always recommend washing the surface off and crushing it in advance, it makes it a lot more efficient. If you're just chewing it up, you're still going to be left with large chunks, so a lot of the time-release effects will still be in place.

Agree!

Just taking the coating off will not kill the time release. The time release component of the drug is actually inside the pill itself. Even crushing it won't completely 100% defeat the time release, but it will work far more efficiently than just chewing on them and especially far better than just taking the coating off (which will do nothing for the time release).

Fuck AUS. Here in the US they changed the OC's and now they're changing all the opanas as well. FML

I'm not a big fan of oxycodone, so the change in OxyContin has no effect on me. I'm on methadone. But when I want to do some opiate its usually either heroin or morphine. Occasionally Dilaudid when they are around, or a fentanyl patch but that is very rare. It's usually heroin or morphine. But mostly, I just stick to my methadone program.

yeah, i'd always put the oxies under my tongue for 5 seconds, scrape the coating off, crush them, and then swallow. oh man, i love the taste of oxies. i didn't like chewing them cuz i'd feel like i'd get some powder stuck in my teeth and that would be wasting!
