Do they make 20mg dextroamphetamine tabs?

Yesterday I had my first appointment with my new psychiatrist and we made a change in my medication regimine. Previously I was prescribed 2 10mg Dexedrine SR capsules and 1 10mg dextroamphetamine tablet/ day. Those are both dextroamphetamine sulfate-only medications (aka NOT Adderall.) Anyways, the SRs are extremely expensive (under my current insurance policy) and my new doctor changed my prescription to 2 20mg dextroamphetamine tablets/day (like I'd hoped - astronomical price difference) after I explained my financial situation.

Anyways...Of course the pharmacy (the only one in town that has dextroamphetamine-only tablets - trust me, I've checked them all) did not have the 20mg tabs in stock, but they said they'd order them for me and I could pick them up on Monday.

My concern is: Do 20mg dextroamphetamine-only tabs even exist? According to Wiki, they only make 5mg and 10mg tabs (which I know they do - I've been prescribed both.) All the images on Google that come up appear to be 20mg Adderall tabs. Wiki also states that they only make up to 15mg SR capsules (if they made 20mg, I probably wouldn't even be posting this considering I've had the capsules/tabs mix-up before.)

Can I expect to actually get 20mg dextroamphetamine-only tablets when I go to the pharmacy on Monday?

I'm 99.9% sure they do not make these. In fact, the highest dose here is 15 Mg XR or 5 mg IR.
I WISH there were 20 mg tabs.... ;)
 
OK...Yeah...The pharmacist confirmed that they do not make 20mg tabs. However, (for gorgoroth) they said they do make 5mg, 10mg and 15mg IR tabs. The pharmacist suggested just prescribing 4 10mg tabs/day instead, so hopefully my doc will OK that. Of course this couldn't come at a worse time, though: the pharmacy (the only one in town that has IR dexies) closes in less than 4 hours, isn't open on the weekends and I might have to leave town (family issue) before I could pick it up on Monday. Figures. SMH at doc for writing a script for something that doesn't exist ;(
 
15mgIRs? never heard of them, only 5, 10mgIR. You could as mentioned go to a compounding pharmacy, but that may be expensive.

I'm wondering if this antique, old school med is on it's way to being discontinued. The original 5mg orange shields were discontinued recently, and GSK dropped the 5mg spansules too, that along with Dexedrines chequered past and the dropping of other manufactures Dextroamphetamine only pills makes me wonder if it's on the way out. The tabs are after all 75 years old in pill form and longer when the inhalers were around.
 
Which one are you looking at?

As far as I know they do not make 20mg Dexedrine only tabs. Now they do make 20mg Adderal (ampet salt combo) which has a high percentage of dex.
 
The 20mg tablets in that link are 20mg generic Adderall tablets, not 20mg dextroamphetamine tablets. Adderall and Dexedrine are not the same drug.

They don't make 20mg dextroamphetamine tablets. I'm going to close this. PM me if you have a source that's credible that they do.
