Do Scientologists Actually Believe This??

^ and, in turn, real science is more believable than the scientology rap.

Also, Jesus never asked for your money, only your soul :)

True true.
And then rock n roll was born, and that asshole didnt even ask, he took things.

^ We can build machines that converts information we can't sense into information we can..

Radiation, magnetic fields, infra red light, radio waves, etc, etc, etc..

Indeed we can, but one would still run into the same problem. The information/measurements made by such machines can only be known to you via your senses, phenomena that reside in your mind. There are ways out of such solipsistic nightmares thanks to Kant, who posits a 'source' for phenomena, namely noumena which have a mind-independent reality, We cannot know whether noumena correspond to phenomena for the purposes of description - though you might want to look into quale (p. qualia) for further insight.

I read "Dianetics", and a lot of it makes some sense -- sort of a cross between Buddhism and psychotherapy. The Xenu stuff sounds like Hubbard's fiction, though. Wonder if he ever wrote a sci-fi story about it?

If I`m not mistaken, he did. I believe he wrote a screenplay in the `60s or `70s that included this stuff with Xenu (I think it`s called "Battle for the Stars" or "To the Stars" or something like that), and of course some of the subject material in Battlefield Earth is derived from some of the mythology.

If anyone has specific questions about Scientology, I can field them to my friend, just ask me.
