Ok so I have serious back problems and go to a Spine & Pain Dr. Recently I changed insurances and primary care Drs. So I needed a new referal for my Spine & Pain Dr. I went to my new primary care dr and she wrote a new referal and wrote for all of my prescriptions for a month to hold me over. Well as for my pain meds she wasn't comfortable giving me what they were. They were giving me 60 perc 10's a month. 2 a day. Well she wrote for 60 perc 5's a month. So what do you know two weeks passed and I used them all. And my referal still isn't approved. So I go back to this new primary care dr and tell her the truth that even though I was only supposed to take two a day after trying that and not getting releif I took more and was now out. She wrote me a new script of another 60 perc 5's. I took it to Walgreens and they said it was too early to fill it. I explained what happened and that I talked to my dr about it and everything is cool but they had to call her anyway. So I say ok and sit in the little waiting area. The pharmacist calls my dr and I literally hear the pharmacy telling her that it was only 10 days (first off not true- second off fuck her) and that I shouldn't need them. Ummm what? Lady knows nothing about me or what I go through daily. So this new dr of mine just says "ok" and they give me my prescription back and had written RTS 2•6 on it. First what does RTS 2•6 mean? I'm no dummy so I'm guessing return to sender ? But the 2•6? And second, can I just take it to another pharmacy that doesn't know I just filled it two weeks ago? I know my insurance is probably going to flag it or not pay for it so whatever I'll pay if I have to. But does Walgreens share their info with other pharmacies? Will CVS or the small local pharmacy know that I just filled it??

Yeah, within each chain they can see each others info. But now, every state has a prescription monitoring program where every controlled substance must be reported to a central database that all doctors and pharmacies can access and is required, at least on the pharmacy end, to be utilized on every script for a controlled drug.

I cant say no one will fill it as some pharmacists are just lax about using the tool and a suprising number of doctors barely use it at all.

Your best bet is to talk to your doctor and have them call the pharmacy and see if the directions can be changed to two tablets twice a day. Tell the pharmacist the truth and that they should expect a call. Keep in mind, not every state allows changes to a narcotic rx and pharmacists still have a right to refuse so you may have to get a new written prescription.

I didnt read all of what you posted, Whith the chemists it all goes to PBS. Though SWIM has been told from doc shopping you can get the script from multiple doctors SWIM used to get 3x50mg diazepam scripts a week. all you need todo is take them to different chemists around your city, make sure they are not the same company name. Also i have found that each doctor has a different home address and same with the pharmascists, I dont think this has any kind of help to not get caught but basically, its in place to stop people doc shopping but i have yet to see it work, ive been doing it now for almost 2 years.

Prescription monitoring works a little bit differently here in the U.S. so there is a good chance a pharmacy will catch it since it is a controlled medication. Obviously it would be flagged since the pharmacist wrote that blurb on it so a new one will be needed. That being said, we shouldn't try and advise people how to skirt the law so I have to close this. OP, pm me if you have any questions.

Yea U.S. is pretty strict on the whole monitoring prescriptions. It's been like that for a few years and it's getting tighter in the U.S., just wait for your refill or talk with your doctor.
