Do not understand the hype about fentanyl!!?

Sorry if this is off topic but could you please explain how fentanyl can lower tolerance to other opiates? Wouldn't it just raise tolerance due to cross tolerance of opiate receptors?

I was wondering the same thing. One of my friends says when he uses a 25 or 50 mcg patch, it takes away his pain & after 2 or 3 days when hes coming down from it, he gets cravings to use again so I dont know how that would decrease your tolerance.
 
My 2 cents. I had the 25mcG patches at one time and I first tried wearing them and like some have said above I got the nod or zoned out place but no euphoria/warm happy place like some other opiates. I then tried to cut the corner and suck a little at a time out (a very small amount each time because I knew about the potency) but like said above got nothing from it. It may be different strokes for different folks because a friend of mine tried a little from the corner sucking it and made them sick, sick, sick (and they were very opiate experienced). Dunno.. my insurance covered them with the PA but I went back to the Percs cause they seemed to be more happy place.
 
I think it could work by sustaining you just enough to avoid withdrawal but at a lower dose than one equipotent to your normal dose of your DOC.

Only while you have a patch on. I find it lowers my tolerance to where I can take shit on top of the patch being on. Not that it actually lowers your tolerance. lol Though by doing this it causes your tolerance to skyrocket. But it will get the job done. For me if I have a 75 mcg patch on it drops my tolerance by 60% so I can actually enjoy a roxi high. But really you have a shit ton of opiates in your system.

In the spirit of harm reduction I don't reccomend it though... (had t throw this in there)

Damn and I was getting excited that someone was going to reveal to me the most significant opiate discovery since morphine.
 
I think that fent is one of the better(if not the best) painkillers.And even if i read here that it doesn't give you a warm,euphoria opiate feeling,i don't agree with this.For me it works still with my pain,even that i take it for 7 years at the dose that i started it,i didn't increase my dose.And if i take 2 pills of ketoconazole or 2 clarithromycin,it will give me a nice,warm,opiate feeling for all the day.Please don't do it if your tolerance is low or medium,it's a very bad idea.Some others think that it's a strong but "cold" opiate,i understand this.the same drug works different for everybody,and of course all the people doesn't have the same taste..But as a matter of fact,i would like to get some(lot)oxymorphone,probably it's the best opiate...

I've been using opiates for about 8 years now I started at a very early age. Mainly obtaining them by breaking into houses and looking in the parents pill cabinets, but eventually landed a job at UPS which was a mecca for any pill head or smack fiend. Especially when we had so many of us working within to make sure everything was always covered and discreet. I got out before it got busted, but let's just say we trololololed the High Value Clerk cart often and would come across motherloads of Fentanyl and MSContin all sorts of good stuff. I got into an accident about 10 months ago and went straight from the Dilaudid pump excuse me for my ignorance because I never bothered to ask at the time how much I was getting as I never wanted to seem like I was fiending for this shit. Though I do admit after getting off the pump and getting it directly injected into my port was a million times more effective. Morphine sulfate and oxy contin are too weak even at their highest doses to even consider managing my pain. I am given each month 15 75mcg Fentanyl brand patches, sometimes I get the generics and like Watson the only one left who makes the gel patches, they're weak as fuck compared to the non generic brands. I'm also given 30mg morphine sulfate 120 of them a month to take as needed for BT pain. Fentanyl if you smoke it right works out great dood, you need to at least fold the foil twice so you have basically 4 layers and make sure you have the shiny side up. Do not hesitate to bomb that entire patch, I usually do it in a junction of about 2 hours tops. I enjoy the taste of the vapor very much so as it's sweet and the onset is pretty much instant. You must also hold in the hit for at least 10 seconds and take as long as hits as you can. Some say that it shouldn't burn up in the first hit, make it quit fucking bubbling in the first hit thats how you do it. Also, I have had intravenous injections of Fentanyl because I am already on it and while wearing patches and being in a hospital being treated for kidney stones they can't really give me dilaudid like they normally would =[ It's offset is very quick and it's onset is also very quick, which is why it is sought after and considered to be dangerous, that is up to your body to decide however if you want to roll the dice =]
