the secondary metabolites of microorganisms are a vast and unstudied subject. for one, you first need a sterile culture of the organism in order to determine that the compound you found is indeed produced by this organism and not that one over there. then obviously you have the tiny tiny scales involved...
honestly, with the presence of DMT and its related compounds in a number of plant and animal genera, i would be surprised if there were NO microorganisms that produced DMT.
