For some reason this is somewhat of a taboo amongst women I think. Or is it that very few women actually masturbate on a regular basis i.e. every day?

I searched for masturbation threads and hey, try an experiment sometime to see how many threads have the word "masturbation" in them. Try a bazillion! So, hey, this thread was started in the gracious spirit of curiosity that we in SLR welcome. Therefore, it stays open. :)

You know what? I've never had a meaningful conversation with my girlfriends about WHY we masturbate. This might turn into a good poll when I can get my thoughts together, I'm running on little sleep and much nervous energy. :)

How often do I do it? 2-5 times a week, depending on my libido if I am having minimal to no sex. Less often if I'm having regular sex and having orgasms that are not of my own doing. ;)

Ladies, how often do you masturbate?

What are the reasons and conditions under which you masturbate, if any?

I do on Wednesdays and Saturdays - those are the days my husband goes to work earlier then I do, so I have some private time to myself.

Why do I do it? It's no nonesense - I get what I want very quickly, with no worries about anyone else. Yes, it's completely selfish.

i cant speak for other girls..but i do...as to why i still do it.. i think its kind of neat to hear my pussy make all those shlick shlick shlick noises...

My housemate caught me I think and she hasnt looked me in the eye since. (3 Weeks ago) I had the bedroom door slightly open, and it was in the morning when for some reason she decided to come home before work. Anyway I think its hilarious and she is just a prude for not being able to laugh at it.
 
It's pretty rare for me but that's only because I like to have COMPLETE privacy while I'm at it, and unfortunately I rarely have the house to myself :( (and no I DON'T like the bathroom! ;) )

Most female friends I have admit they do it... my friends are quite an open bunch, although I realise some see it as "taboo".

I don't do it every day.. perhaps a couple of times a week.

Well I can't speak for everyone but when I have been asked if I masturbate I have lied and said no. I think its because it just a embarrising subject for some. As I have gotten older with only my closest friend have I shared that I do infact sometimes do it. I could never tell my bf that I do. But I do think he caught me once.

When I was younger I did it alot, but as I get older I only seem to do it right before I get my period? And its not any less because I get sex more. I get less sex now then I did when I was 16! I do it at the most 2 times a month.

I feel the same way you do, with wanting to have complete privacy and feeling embarrassed with my s/o realizing what I'm doing (and I'm married to him!). If he's deep enough asleep, I might go downstairs and do it, but then I'm so worried that he might wake up and realize I'm gone from the bed .. I don't.

During the school year, especially close to deadlines and finals, I'll pull a quickie in the shower just to relieve stress and help me concentrate on whatever schoolwork I have to do.

If I had my way, I would masturbate at least 3-5 times a week, but sadly, it's more like 3-4 times every few weeks.
 
I did for a long time.. more recently its been 1- 2-3 a week. It depends where I am in my cycle to be honest, that usually determines how horny I get.

As for masturbating next to a sleeper, I've practiced and have yet to wake someone. If they just decided to wake up and interrupt, I'd tell them to go back to bed or finish me off instead of pretending that I wasn't being naughty ;)

I have the same problem has this. I too sometime wake so damn horny that I just have to whack myself off or I can't sleep.

I have became good at being a stealth masturbater for these situations. Only once have I woken my s/o and she is was like " What are doing"?

Hmmm do you mean "quite" or quiet?
I'm just saying that most girls do masturbate and it's really nothing to be ashamed of or to be quiet about because it's perfectly normal.

A long time ago, when we were children, our parents or our church told us that it was wrong to do such things for two reasons:
1) it was embarrassing to them
and
2) to make you have guilty feelings about making yourself feel good...I mean, god forbid you enjoy your own body :\
 
I definitely do, several times a week, and mainly just because I feel the need (i.e., i'm horny!). Being that I don't have some other regular outlet for that sort of thing, it seems to be the best solution.

I think I had my first orgasm at 12 or so when I miraculously discovered the jets in a neighbor's swimming pool. Thank god I was alone at the time! I used to but I felt guilty masterbating for a long time. I was raised catholic and I was told that touching myself was a sin. I found out that was bull crap and I began to masterbate and had wonderful orgasms without the rush of guilt afterwards.

I now have a boyfriend so I only masterbate when he wants to watch ;);)
 
Man, I've done it like....3 or 4 times a day before. I guess I'm really horny. But its definately daily, or maybe every other day. (I get a lot of private time obviously) But those "back massagers" ......DAMN! 8o =D
