Opioids do i have blood clots? blood flakes

ok so a little over a year i turn to IV (worst mistake) but i have not been IVing that much the past 6 months maybe once or twice a month .. i was really stupid when i first started IVing and just messed my veins up bad always used same veins on both arms were my elbow bends ... when ever i occasionally shoot up when i draw back the blood shoots back in the rig and ill see little blood flakes ..my vains are no longer visible but i always hit when i do but it just shoots back like a string of blood .. today i was talking to someone about seeing blood flakes said that they are clots .... can some1 please give me some info im scared as hell and my heath is pretty shitty too
 
same used to happen to me, but i injected anyways 8o
im still alive but it was from over using those two veins in my crooks of my elbow.. just move to a new area and let those clots heal the vein you were shooting in.

What gauge are you using?

Sometimes, the "flakes" you see are parts of your vein wall which have been removed via the large gauge puncturing through. Sometimes that happens when you don't fully get the needle's face into the vein properly, and it's only half way in.

You can't find any un-used veins for your 1 or 2 x a month excursions?
 
well i dont iv that much anymore and i do have veins in my hands ..idk why i never use them it just seems like a pain and they roll ... i try to get 31 gage and last time i used 28 gage but i keep seeing these blood flakes and the way the blood just squirts up in the when draw back is just stand it does not fill up like it used to .... my veins are never coming back or getting better they shrunk so much .... should i go to a doctor about this

It's good you don't use your hand veins, for a variety of reasons. They are viable if you are really careful and use new 31G's each time, but on some people they do roll a lot.

I have noticed in people who barely IV, their blood will register very noticeably, and with people who IV for a while, it doesn't do that anymore.

I'm not sure if this is a function of the vein, or of how much/how quickly you are pulling back (pulling the plunger back with too much force can actually cause hemolysis)... or what.

I wouldn't go to a doctor about this unless you have injection complications like an abscess, collapsed veins, etc. Sometimes it is hard to tell if you have injection complications, so it's understandable you are considering going to a doctor.

Are your veins still close to the surface? Can you still feel/see them or are you "digging"?
 
no there not noticeable anymore but if i make a fist i feel like a tight skinny vein and im so used of were to stick i just always hit most of the time .. at one point about 10 months ago after IVing about 15 roxi's a day i would stick i needle in and it would be so crunchy inside and i just didn't care at that point of my life ... but even if i try drawing back slow a sting of blood still just shoots like half way up the rig it dose not fill up at the bottom anymore ..and ill have flakes life 3 flakes at a time in the needle the look like a bottle of gold shlager

idk cause i never get an abscess when i shoot so i dont think im only half way in
 
and another crazy thing is i found a good vein like 5 months ago that i never even realized i had on the side of my arm were my elbow bends and didn't even use it that much and seemed like it collapsed and my veins just don't seem to be coming back after months of not even using them
 
That's interesting. There should be more than 1 or 2 good veins in your arms. Maybe you can't see them all but I have at least 4 on each arm.

When a vein collapses often there will be like a few, very very much so smaller veins that appear magically. They typically won't be big ones either.

So I'm not sure if that's what happened or not. Sometimes you discover new veins as an IDU as you go along.

The "crunchy" feeling you were feeling a long time ago was due to layers of scar tissue. This happens a lot when you are injecting frequently into one vein and not rotating properly.

The scar tissue may stay or heal over time. If it stays, your vein should heal, it will just be deeper than before (which isn't good but, it's better than having it collapsed and gone). That may be why you can't see them as well anymore.
 
It's coagulated blood. Some veins/blood coagulate as soon as they touch air in the syringe and will form "flames" of blood flooting around looking like you didnt filter it right, or sometimes you'll get a big ball of blood float around but when it goes thru the needle it breaks it down smaller and turns into smooth blood again.
 
its just scars, and chunks of damaged tissue, whoever is telling you that you have blood clots you should kick his ass cause thats mean
 
Yo I'm the same way I hit the same one in my left elbow every single time, its just so easy and I really don't think it will ever go away if it hasn't by now. The only downside is the huge purple mark and it makes that crunchy feeling going in sometimes haha. But I know what you mean about it shooting up the rig but for me that only happens sometimes sometimes it is thick dark blood that slowly trickles in and completely fills the first units but sometimes it shoots up halfway up in a thin stream. And I don't really get flakes but sometimes if the blood stays in for a min it like seperates into tiny little pieces and I get scared of shootin it so I refilter it and it looks more normal I think it is chunks of red blood cells or some shit idk.

man if your vein is getting crunchy its starting to go
 
the flakes you are talking about have nothing to do with clotting. the only time i remember seeing them is when i would let the blood sit in the barrel for long enough to coagulate. there is no reason to be waiting more than a couple seconds when you register.

Sure there is. Registering and then slipping out mid shot and then not being able to register again for a long time will form "flakes" of coagulated blood in the rig. Or sometimes blood will trickle in and coagulate even if you're not in the vein.

Then there is also the circumstance where people are injecting large amounts of solution, due to increasing dosages/tolerance.
