Hi, I took haloperidol for 3 years because of psychosis. I should not have been prescribed this but my mother kept insisting to the doctor I was schizophrenic which i wasn't. But I was diagnosed with dysthymia and adjustment disorder in the mental hospital. Could they have diagnosed with psychosis disorder? They didn't because i did't really talk. Anyways. My problem is this, when i was on the drug I had loss of interest, which is a side effect. It went away after i stopped it. Now I have problem of learning new materials. I just can't force myself to learn anything. Don't know if its because of attention or concentration. I feel like some physical object is in my brain preventing learning or taking the fun out of it. I also have become really quiet after Haloperidol my friends tell me it's annoying. I also have low self-control as result. like I cannot diet. What you do you think Psychiatrist will prescribe me if i tell them this? or should i look into herbal and other legal drugs?

Ha, yeah we do know some things and can speculate as much as anyone. But a clinical diagnosis can't be given over the internet. Definitely let us know what the psychiatrist says though, I really hope you get some helpful feedback
