i find that drugs hit me way harder in the morning. i'm sure having zero stomach contents has something to do with it but it's not the only reason because even if i eat very little and then fast for like 10-12 hours during the day before taking a drug, it never hits as hard as if i take a drug in the morning.

does anyone know why this happens or experience something similar?

maybe it's something to do with have a nice, fresh brain - all rested up after a long night's sleep.

Back when I smoked weed, there used to be something epic about having a chuff first thing in the morning

Yeah i definatly say in the morning its totally different ie my morning oxy dosage normally i take 40 mg morning and evening however i changed it up just for kicks and 20 mg actually worked but not nearly as long.

well it doesn't count if you're evening dose is the second time you're taking the drug that day cause then you can already have tolerance from the first dose.

tis because when you frist wakeup, your brain is jus kickin everythign into gear... then when you throw in a drug that effects it while its still tryinto do its own thing... or so ive heard..
kinda like if u jus log on your comp and start opening programs and shit you know. it gets all fucked up haha

wha ... all i was saying was that the morning dose regardless of 40mg or 20mg happens to hit hard regardless .. i wasnt talking about my evening dose .

This is because the enzyme's that break em down are at the lowest level in the morning

My painkillers (Tramadol) seem to work best in the morning for me, dunno if it is related somehow to this, but have to agree with post #2 that weed is the best when you light up for the first time during the day.
All the meds I take in the morning probably kill any brain activity, I can actually feel my brain and myself slowing down after taking my anxiety (Diazepam) + pain (Tramadol) + ADHD meds (Ritalin) combo in the morning xD ;)

I still dislike the idea of having to pop pills the moment I wake up tho :\, even though I have been doing it for the last few months it still reminds me of the fact that I can't live without anymore in my case :(

Nah. But I don't take my drugs orally.

I find that they hit me hardest in the evening/night, especially if I'm at least a little tired.

^
it also hits you harder if its not oral

every junkie can attest to the wake up shot being the best

e never did it for me during daylight but i guess that could be an exception. i always tripped at night with a few during some daylight and have noticed a difference. as to if its stronger i couldnt say.

Meh...I dislike doing any drug right in the morning because it just shortens my days. Any substance burns me out at some part of the day which is why i rather do em at night...The only substances i see the point in doing in the morning are: Long lasting stimulants..or any 10+ hour lasting substance.

yea wake up shoot is the best, you wake up all your body in withdrawal and you shoot it up and 5 seconds later everything is good and you are in haven.I like to wait until I go to withdrawal to feel dope better specially when i don't have a lot of money. later on I don't feel it that much.

Not all drugs, But WEED hits me really hard the 1st session i have during the day............................

I don't know if I buy this.

I'm sure most drugs will hit you harder in the morning, but not because of anything in particular. Assumg you're not using hard all night, and there's at least a bit o time before you sleep. And you sleep for a decent length of time, you should have, about a ten hour break between last and first use.

This will explain the vast majority of increased morning effects.

I agree with this opinion...I remember when I used to be a cigarette smoker, there was nothing like the first cigarette of the day with my morning coffee.....The same goes for every substance I'd assume.....For me at least.

Stomach contents has A LOT to do with it....I'm a bodybuilder so I always make sure to eat a huge breakfast before I dose my meds and supplements...(Egg whites, oatmeal, protein shake, coffee, OJ, Water)

40 mgs of Amphetamine salts will always hit me MUCH harder when I dose in the morning after a good night's rest....Re-dosing on any substance for me is just a waste of a high..everything from opiates to LSD, once I open or close my mind enough, there is no getting any higher =D

Shockingly, LSD for me is completely unnecessary for me to redose....If I do it, i just consume all the hits I plan on taking at one initial time...I reach a much more desired level when I take 3 good hits at once contrast to taking one hit and then taking 4 or 5 later in the night...once my mind is open, it's open.....same with opiates....50mgs of Hydrocodone in the morning may make me itch but redose another 50mgs or more in the afternoon and all I feel is lethargic and weak-minded......

in my experience, it's definitely not an effect of time increased time between use. for example, recently i took a rather large dose of xanax one night. i woke up the next morning and took a smaller dose of klonopin thinking it wouldn't effect me much because of the xanax i had taken the night before and it would probably be a waste but surprisingly, i got very strong effects from it.

another example is when i took 2 somas one morning, i got so messed up i couldn't even sit up in a chair and it was actually unpleasant and i havent wanted to take soma ever since, when i was usually fine doing it at night.

and then of course weed, weed would always hit me the hardest in the morning regardless of how much id been smoking lately.

Exactly how I feel. I take 5 medications every single morning and I always think about that.
