I think it's more the stabilized depression than actual pleasure above baseline. But who knows, it affects everyone slightly different right. I'm on 400 mg daily and have been for years.

Lamictal is known to be one of those mood stabilizer / anticonvulsants that doesn't cause decrease in energy like others such as depakote and lithium.

I'm really glad it helps you. I owe my first doctor a massive thank-you present for finding the drug for me. Pregabalin, gabapentin, and other drugs had no effect on my peripheral neuropathy. It was only when she prescribed me Lamictal that I found my match made in heaven. And the recreational effects have been massive and extremely helpful for my anxiety, depression, cognition, and other things.

That is very interesting because I take lamictal everyday and I feel no difference at all. I don’t take it for for psychiatric reasons though

It's only when I take a huge dose recreationally that I feel the difference. I also don't take it for psychiatric reasons, but it seems to help.
 
I'm allergic to Lamictal, don't recall how it affected me but is listed on my allergic drug list, along with Ambian, Sulphur, penicillin and Abilify
