Do DOC or 25i cause rapid heart rate?

I have recently acquired some DOC tabs & some 25i tabs which I am very excited about. This will be my first time experimenting with these substances. Do either of these chems cause very rapid heart rate?

I plan on starting small with both of them like I do with everything I experiment with. I'm not going to dive right into the deep end. One of the main things I dont like about psychs/entheogens/drugs is that they have a tendency to cause my heart to beat way too hard and way too fast sometimes. Not all the time, but occasionally they can, especially if its my first time using them. There have been times where it felt like my heart was going to beat straight out of my chest and explode in the air. The first time I tripped on DXM there was a 30min period where I thought for sure I was going to die because my heart was getting ready to explode at any moment. I literally accepted the fact that this was it and they were going to find me dead with a empty bottle of cough syrup laying next to me.

Should I be worried about this with either DOC or 25i?

P.S.
I am quite experienced with things like LSD, LSA, Mescaline, Salvia, Ayahuasca, DXM, Cannabis/synthetic noids, etc. Been experimenting for roughly 16 years.

Yes, DOC and 25I both tend to cause some vasoconstriction, which can raise your heart rate and your blood pressure. In my experience it's not as bad as DXM though (which directly elevates your heart rate, from what I understand). I've never felt like my heart was beating out of my chest on either one, but I'm sure it's possible if you take a high enough dose.

Starting out low is a good idea, and you could also try taking a Benadryl and/or a beta-blocker. Also oral/sublingual/buccal/rectal administration should have less body load than insufflation or IM.

For me DOC causes more vasoconstriction than 25I, but I've heard it's the opposite way for other users.

Good luck! :D

Are you sure your heart is actually beating dangerously fast? I've heard it's a common thing to worry about while tripping. And since you made a post here it's clearly something you worry about. Could just be in your head? You should measure your BPM.

The only time I had concerns about my heart rate was on 25D. I took 3 tabs buccal which were supposed to be 800mics each. I just reminded myself that my heart IS probably beating faster than normal, but it does that all the time =D

I think I remember the only time I took DOC around the 6+ hour mark it suddenly became SUPER intense with kaleidoscope vision and felt like my heart was upwards of 180 BPM. Thought I was going to die.

It went away after like 20-30 minutes of laying down though but holy shit was I freaked out. Everything on TV looked deformed (i was watching it's always sunny).

Raised heart beat is to be expected with psychs, especially stimulative ones like DOx, and 25x-NBOMe too. Unless there are other contraindicating factors (cardiovascular issues, you're on other drugs/supplements, etc.) it's nothing to worry about at normal doses.

Otherwise, I'd listen to freedstar, it's not uncommon for people to get paranoid/anxious about these things (and anxiety can raise heartrate/BP...ack!, feedback loop) without reason. That said, the drugs you've mentioned are much more likely to cause serious medical issues in overdose than more classical psychs, so stay within the common HR-friendly dosage range.

Avoid vigorous exercise, and don't be afraid to lie down for a while as well to help allay your fears. Maybe have a nice relaxing herbal tea.

Thanks for all the responses, guys. Appreciate the info. When I do experiment with them I'll be starting at the 200-300mcg range so hopefully it wont be too bad.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of. I've had this happen to me quite a few times now with the synthetic cannabinoids (especially Mam2201) and it is scary. It is scary when I am already too high & my heart just keeps beating faster & harder as the seconds tick by. I'm just afraid of this happening for hours & hours with the DOC. I also read a trip report about 25i where the guy claims it messed him up bad afterwards and during the trip his heart was beating out of his chest for "hours and hours".

I know the mental aspect makes it worse like was mentioned in the previous post. Starts beating a little harder, I freak out a little, makes heart beat even faster which makes me freak out more, etc etc.

I am in great shape, exercise almost every day, and eat a healthy diet. No meds...just fish oil & multi-vitamin everyday. But I'm very sensitive to most chems/drugs and also being only 135lbs makes it a little worse (or better depending on how you look at it ;) )

Its kinda funny to me when I'm sober though...I can jog on the treadmill and my heart beats extremely hard & fast and it doesnt bother me, in fact I think its kinda healthy & good to do that. Yet if I take a drug & the same thing happens I freak the fuck out and think I'm going to die and have to call 911.

I'm sure the low starting doses will help me get used to it. I plan on being underwhelmed the first few times with each chem and that is fine with me. I've got plenty to work with, thankfully. Back in my early & mid 20s I used to eat LSD like it was candy and go to raves and be jumping around & dancing and the heart issue never bothered me at all. Now that I'm in my early 30s I feel like a old geezer already and worry about it all the time now, unfortunately.

Thanks again everyone.
