Do depressed lab rats dictate international drug policy?

GAH DONT YOU PEOPLE GET IT ??

to most people working 5 days a week, paying rent, bills, interest etc are "lab conditions"

People then like the rats put drugs above everything else and develop life threatening addictions

People who are free from the daily grind mostly dont do drugs. I havent worked for months and havent felt the need to get fucked up either.

You could say im in rat park %)

Ummm, employment isn't a prerequiste to doing drugs. There are plenty of unemployed people out there that do drugs, and vice versa.

Like I said earlier, the decision to use drugs can vary from person to person and isn't always as simple as "i like them."

I was just trying to raise the point that some people might think they can do hard drugs now cause it seems all the behavioral testing done on animals could be biased from "lab conditions".

end rant/

I think what he was trying to point out is that for many people the stresses of modern society might have more in common with the lab animals in the cages than the lab animals in the paradise enclosure.

Personally i still think the experiment shows something profound - as bad as society is for some, it is still better than a tiny cage would be for a mouse or rat, though if this isn't in fact the case arguably more energy should be spent improving living conditions than denying the substances that people turn to to block out the pain.

All this article proves is we all live sad pathetic lives, similar to lab rats. Thats why we use drugs. Maybe if the worlds state of affairs wasnt a complete shit storm than we would use less drugs?

But really, the views on drug addiction arent only based on lab rats. Many statistics and treatment plans come from drug dependency treatment centers, from doctors who run them that see addicts on a daily basis. I think there is more human input in to it than there is animal.
