does taking benzos at the beginning of a trip or before you even ingest the substance have any significant effects? i took four .5mg klonopins an hour or so before i ate about 1.5 grams of nice fungus...at first i thought it'd kill the trip but i ended up having a very relaxed and drole trip accompanied with a lot of stumbling. it was enjoyable, but i've had an uncharacteristic headache for the past two days. any connection (i'd like to hear more about my first question if anything)? thanks, this is a terrific source for knowledgeable and educated opinions.

Do benzos effect a mushroom trip?

I know that valium and xanax are given in emergency rooms to treat agitation caused by drug use, (at least with mushrooms, i dont know about all drugs), so I would imagine its a safe combination and not responsible for your headache. I've heard of benzos helping to abort LSD or MDMA trips, but not mushroom trips. Its my educated guess that mixing the two would only give you an average mushroom trip with a downer edge.

To second the comments - it will only mellow your trip.. benzos don't have the anti-psychotic properties thorazine does - it will calm you, but will not diminish the trip in any way...
