Do Benzodiazepines Make Food Taste Better?

Maybe not just Benzo's, but "GABA" drugs in general?

I usually don't get hungry or think about food at all when I'm high (even with weed) but when I do eat something it just seems to taste better than usual and like I enjoy it more.
Do benzo's enhance taste or something?

I've had a lot of Gabapentin, Dihydrocodeine and Alprazolam and just got a bowl of birthday cake ice cream and peanut butter and it's soooooo good y'all..

Not to me (and I almost always take them sublingually). The taste of benzo's has never really bothered me. I also find it an acquired taste; if I'm using them a lot I actually start to find the taste mildly pleasant.
It's not a really lingering taste, either.
 
For me, benzodiazepines do not make the food taste better, but they can increase appetite, or make the appetite show up in the first place.

Which is good. The vast majority of my weekly calories come from beer, and i think humans are not built to run their engine like that.

I always used to get into crazy shit that was potentially dangerous all benzoed out. 230 in the morning... 5 xanax bars in..... time to break our the deep fryer and mess with scalding hot oil. 🔥

Almost burned the house down on IV versed one time when I forgot the pizzas in the oven.

Yeah me too.

Benzos increase the appetite and motivate you to find weird and exotic ways to satisfy it. I have made many giant messes concocting exotic food in an almost experimental and innovating manner.
 
No if anything benzos would dull taste.

I find psychedelics like LSD and cannabis make food taste better...

yet, I've never enjoyed food and hate eating in general, so yeah....
 
Benzos can definitely increase appetite and with that, increase enjoyment of food. That mixed with decreased inhibitions can lead to some fairly hedonistic 2am fridge raids.

yea i can pig out on acid....but what's funny is i never want to eat meat on acid...so i don't usually....im ok with fish tho on acid
 
It's off topic but salvia is the only drug that's made food taste absolutely delectable. Ham and Cheese sammiches after a salvia bowl were down right cum worthy :p
 
I've definitely experienced the drunk munchies, but have never really noticed it with benzos or gabapentinoids. I guess I'll try to pay attention to it. Or it could just be that the benzo use has basically fucked my memory of going on eating binges and I simply don't remember.

Yea, IMO GABAergic drugs make hungry. I notice it when I take pregabalin.

Perhaps of the bitter taste? When I took it the first and last time, got freakin hungry too, but wasn't able to make anything to eat :LOL:
