I'm growing some D. illinoensis as an alternative to M. hostilis, but, there is one setback. The chem Gramine is contained in the plant (and in unknown quantities). But, a friend and I are working on finding the right solvent to remove the gramine from the spice.
We were thinking Xylene as a solvent, and another solvent to wash the final product for further purification.
I couldn't find a complete list of the solubility of gramine. But one list (which was kind of short) didn't mention gramine being soluble in Xylene.
Does anyone have a complete list of the solubility of Gramine?
