i have tried a few of the popular downers like benzos opiates and alcohol, lately they have made me feel very disconnected from the world. when i drink alcohol i usually will become more social but lately that hasn't been the case. does anyone have more experience with downers and feel like this occurs with most of them?

I can relate to your experience. When I first started drinking it was amazing, it made me talkative, charming, and feel on top of the world, same with opiates. Once you have done these things for years it starts to get dull. Even if you haven't gained a physical tolerance you still accumulate a mental tolerance. You know what the effects will be and you expect a certain reaction. Your brain chemistry will change over the years and so will the effects.

Sometimes I ups and get a bottle with the intention of biting it as hard as I can. Usually alone, I drink it until I regret it. It makes me quite disconnected but for some reason isolation + CNS depression is crazy seductive. I sip.

Benzos in general disconnect me from the world. I couldn't give a fuck about anything. But it's not like booze. I usually just end up KOing if I were to take alone in isolation.

Opiates/Opioids make me not care about anything but nodding harder and the euphoria.

Once in a social setting these things do not apply as I do become more talkative but in general I'm talkative whilst sober. I also don't/won't do Opies in any social setting.
