"Dipping" to administer drugs sublingually

Alright, so over on opiophile i saw a thread about "dipping" suboxone.
by "dipping" i mean putting the drug between a lip and the gums.
i tried it with suboxone and it worked fairly well and was far less of a pain then keeping the pill under the tounge.

my question is, can this be done with other drugs?
i am interested in ativan specificily but might as well make a thread about this method of administration in general.
