(DiphenhydramineHCL / 400mg) - First Time - Schizophrenia like effects.

So I smoke weed and use dxm to get high (360mg to 720mg) last time I tried to get high on Dph(600mg) and had no trip, I felt sleepy and my legs were slightly heavy. Can someone tell me what went wrong? In my country we only have one medicine which is a syrup that contains diphenhydramine:
Amydramine:Na citrate 28.5 mg, Diphenhydramine HCl 7 mg and menthol 0.55 mg per 5ml...
Can it be any of the unactive ingredicents that are denying the Dph high?

The one time I did diphenhydramine I took 550 mg, and it did nothing for me except make me mildly drowsy. Different people just have different tolerance for it.

I have tripped on diphenhydramine twice before and it was strange in a sense.. But I still enjoyed it. I has the spider hallucinations but they were big spiders as opposed to the little ones. I also noticed that it seemed that when it was dark inside I would see a lot more things. I didn't meet with any family or friends, but I did keep seeing small animals like cats and squirrels in my room witch was a little bit odd and I never have heard of anyone else having that happen.

That was off of 1 box of benadryl
