Diphenhydramine (or any anti-histamine)

When is the best time to take your anti-histamine?

I use Oxycontin (oc) 80mg+

Should i take the DPH before? How long before i dose the Oxy? Same time as the Oxy? Or after the Oxy? How long after? For the Diphenhydramine to have maximum effect.

30 minutes or so before dosing the opiate is what I usually do.

^ this, i'd recommend getting some other 2nd gen antihistamines (cetirizine, loratadine, etc.) if you're having trouble with itches or nause, as redosing DPH can become problematic (don't dose above 100mg)

30 minutes or so before dosing the opiate is what I usually do.

This is a generally accepted "pre-load" time for any potentiators one could use. Leaves enough time to get into the body, w/o causing it to leave before it does what you need it to do.

Yep, i take it around the same time I pop my Tagamet. 30 mins beforehand
