Ok, this is my first post,.

i understand that guaifenesin is bad, but this Benylin contains Diphenhydramine as well as Guaifenesin and Levomenthol.. Is this safe to take?

Apparently you can get high off benylin? I heard you can get delirient type effects?

Here is a pic

It's not worth "getting high" off diphenhydramine, especially if you're consuming it as a mentholated syrup. Not to mention the guaifensin will upset your stomach.

Go read some of the Erowid experiences first before you decide to trip on diphenhydramine.

Diphenhydramine is the kind of drug you absolutely need a sitter for, because at above a certain dosage level people tend to go into total zombie blackout mode, and have done reckless shit and ended up in hospitals, for instance.

Bump? My friend has recommended me panadol night tablets. Anyone have any experiences?

Ugh, please listen to Sekio and reconsider your choice to get high on DPH. The amount of negative experiences dwarf the few positive, and some of those that do go wrong go very wrong. It's widely regarded as a disturbing and unpleasant experience. Alas, I do understand that some people are going to do what they're going to do anyways and this is an HR forum so the only advice one could give is to buy a product with Diphenhydramine as the only listed active ingredient.

I've never heard of Panadol but just be sure to read the back of the box before consuming, if there's only DPH it's "okay" to take. Have you considered taking DXM? It's also OTC in many countries and widely considered a superior drug. Although not really a guaranteed good time either it seems to have a much more positive reputation. Whatever you be careful, it'll be a very good idea to get a friend to watch over you. The whole gist of delerium is that you can't differentiate between what's real and what's not... this is a pretty dangerous state to be in, alone :\

Hey OP - I'm from the UK so may be more familiar with some of the product you've listed than our American friends here,

I realise that this is your first thread and that you seem new to this world of recreational drugs - we all were once. But I really don't understand what you're trying to achieve? Perhaps if you could tell us what you're trying to do, we could help out a little better?

Panadol Night tablets contain a large dose of Paracetamol mixed with a small dose of Diphenhydramine - they're taken by people who can't sleep because they have a headache. Due to the ratio of Paracetamol to Diphenhydramine, the abuse potential is very low - if any. Also, I see you're plucking out random products such as Benadryl and Panadol Night that contain Diphenhydramine. But you do realise that every pharmacy in the UK sells pure Diphenhydramine tablets over the counter without a prescription to be used as a sleep aid? It is sold in 50mg tablets and only contains Diphenhydramine. No Paracetamol, no Guaifenesin, no Levomenthol. So if Diphenhydramine is what you're after, just go and buy it over the counter.

However - I think your friend is giving you bad advice. You can't really get 'high' off of antihistamines such as Diphenhydramine in the way that I think you think you can. In large doses, they'll just make you very drowsy. IMO, it's not very pleasurable and the effects last for a long time in large doses. You'll feel groggy for days afterwards. The same goes for Promethazine, which is an antihistamine similar to Diphenhydramine, that is also used as a sleep aid and available in its purest form over the counter.

They're actually really good as antihistamines if you have an allergic reaction, but abusing them on their own to get high? I just wouldn't recommend it. It's not very pleasurable at all.

^^^ What Plasticity says really. I can't really add much more to that.

I wont encourage using either of them, and I'd certainly advise against it. But for the sake of harm reduction, I'd rather you took my advice and sought these antihistamines as substances on their own, and not as an added ingredient in some random cough syrup or painkiller. That's kinda silly.

I'm sorry if this post comes across as a bit mean. Basically, your friend has told you that the substance Diphenhydramine which is found in may things, can give you a pleasurable high if you take it in a high dose. The truth is, it's just nasty. Sorry to burst that bubble.

However, please do post back here or private message me if you want to know anything more. I'd rather you sought advice before doing something stupid.

Welcome to Bluelight and enjoy your stay :)

Hello, and thanks for these responses. I have gone through with it.. And it really wasn't so bad! I found the whole experience quite fascinating to say the least - almost pleasurable.
